    I haven't paid close enough attention to know, but does it seem that Edmonds struggles against all lefties or is it just finesse or hard throwing lefties? When you've been as bad as Edmonds has been against LHP, you have to be bad against all types of them. Yeah, that's not true.

    It's not as good as you think. He's pitching stellar at home in a ballpark that fits his strengths, but he's not pitching so well on the road. At home: 9 G, 55 IP, 2.45 ERA, 45 H, 10 BB. On the Road: 8 G, 47.1 IP, 4.75 ERA, 61 H, 8 BB. I'm just not sold that he's that much better than what we have in the fourth and fifth spots. True, but he had one terrible start where he gave up 9 runs that really skews the road numbers. Take that out and his road ERA drops all the way to 3.15. And just because I know someone's thinking it, if you take out his best road start (since you're taking out his worst start) his ERA sits around 3.55.

    Larry King Live is a tribute to George Carlin. That's a re-run, but definitely more entertaining than this. Yeah. I spent last night with a 6 pack watching 3 hours of his standup bits on HBO. Great stuff.

    Just out of curiosity, how much over face did you wind up paying for those? I have no idea how much face is. I paid $50 a ticket for Tier 23 Row T. Probably crappy seats, and I probably could have scalped for a better price (I'm a pro from being a Cubs fan in Wrigleyville), but I have friends (red sox fans) coming down from NH who are giving me a ride back after the game so I wanted to make certain we had tickets before they made the 5 hour drive. Most auctions I saw were going for $75 a ticket for the much less desirable Bleacher seats, so I feel like I did well. Wow, 50 a ticket for anywhere in the stadium sounds like a good deal to me.

    Who would be available? If the Tigers continue to suck, I could see Renteria being available, but that isn't likely. Renteria would be a downgrade. Would he? Hasn't he always been much better as an NL player? Not sure. But Theriot is better in every offensive way and has him by about 100 points on OPS.
