  1. What the hell does that mean?? I've never quite understood it.
  2. What's that mean? Are you saying that no other teams would have offered Glendon a contract? Because I think that's false. I don't like this rumored deal one bit, but let's not pretend that Hendry is "bidding against himself." And to answer the poll question... no, I honestly don't have faith in Hendry anymore. He just doesn't seem to understand what this team needs.
  3. We lost to freakin kU. ](*,)
  4. heeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaas theeeeeeeeeeeeeeee abilityyyyyyyyyyyyyy tooooooooooooooo waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit
  5. How does the process work? When one current season ticket holder decides to not renew his package, does the next person in line get a call and is offered those exact seats? Or do other current season ticket holders get the opportunity to upgrade their tickets? Lastly, if and when you're offered tickets, if you're offered tickets in a section that you don't want, are you allowed to turn them down and wait for the next available seats or is it those seats or nothing?
  6. I have to wonder something. Hendry should know by now that Rusch is at his best as a regular starter. However, this makes me curious... Prior, Wood, Zambrano, Maddux, Hill, Williams, and Rusch can all start next season. I'm thinking that guys such as Pinto and Nolasco will also be ready for the rotation if called upon during some point next season. Yet, there's only a 5 man rotation. I'm thinking this deal just made Rich Hill and Jerome Williams much more expendable... Which is too bad, since I would rather hold on to Williams than keep Rusch. So would I, but in a trade, Williams will get you more than Rusch will.
  7. Considering it was Hendry and his approach toward players, I think it is unlikely that Hendry would trade Walker based on the extreme discount he signed with us at. That is, unless, someone made him an offer he couldn't refuse, or if Walker agreed to be traded to certain teams. Walker asked the Cubs to decline the option if they had plans on trading him, stating that he'd like to be able to choose where he plays next year if the Cubs didn't want him. I can definitely see Hendry honoring his request.
  8. I know that's common in certain cultures, but... In my culture, that's just weird. And funny. I got a good laugh out of that picture - thanks!
  9. I haven't seen much of the game... Have the umps made any more BS calls in favor of the Sox tonight?
  10. The roof has been closed all through the playoffs. Grand Poohbah didn't step in during the Braves or Cardinals series. He needs to get out of the way now as well. I may be wrong here, but isn't it the Astros decision for any and all games other than the World Series? I thought I read that the Commish has the say in World Series games but all other games are to be decided by the Astros.
  11. I'm not up on what the Reds have but I thought they had a gluten of OF's and needed pitching. Probably the case, but my point is would you be willing to deal Pie as part of a deal for Dunn that includes giving up at least one good pitching prospect, like a Nolasco. if hendry wont give up hill for dunn, there is no way he even considers giving up pie for dunn. pie isnt going anywhere except back to west tenn next year. Hendry may have spun off his chair when he said that. I wouldn't be surprised to see Pie dealt for someone like Soriano. This board will absolutely implode then. And it should. If Hendry trades away talent to get Soriano when we already have control of Walker, it might be his worst move yet. I agree that people put WAY too much stock into our prospects, but if Hendry dealt Pie for Sori, then there should be an enormous uproar.
  12. A Sox fan decided to act like a Sox fan and the thread was locked and moved to Rants.
  13. That commercial that was on... the "All Night Long" song one... anyone know who sings that song or what it's called?
  14. 190 bucks? Whoa! Anyone want to share a room? (Females receive first consideration)
  15. I'm thinking of going to the Cubs Convention, but a big part of my decision depends on cost. Could anyone who has gone give me a breakdown of how much it costs to get into the event each day, price of the hotel that the Convention is held in, and any other relevant info? Muchas gracias.
  16. Down come the goalposts! 41 - 24 Brad Smith with nearly 500 yards of offense! Defense shuts out Nebraska in the second half, Taylor picked twice, and sacked who knows how many times. Mizzou still in the lead in the B12 north, all alone if KU beats Colorado tonight. Did they come down?! Surely not. If so, I'm gonna have to head downtown right away and find the guy who's sawing them apart!
  17. Mizzou up 31-24 to start the 4th. Damn I knew I should've went to this game.
  18. Walker has always been one of my favorite players. It's sad to see him go out like this.
  19. I'm all for a 2-1-2 home field setup, where the Wild Card team gets game three, and only game three, at home.
  20. If you don't want to say, I completely understand, but... out of curiosity, how much do you receive from them per sale? Or is it per site view?
  21. What are the fans chanting right now? I can't make it out.
  22. This is going to be one boring World Series.
  23. Great defense, Jimmy!
  24. Easy first inning for Mulder. Man I feel so wrong for rooting for the Cards.
