    Supposedly Hendry has a serious jones for Pierre and he's the number 1 priority. Hendry is the man. I haven't seen anything that said that Pierre is Hendry's top priority - everything I've read says that Furcal is.

    It's like evaluating a QB by W/L record and pass attempts. Like Brady? Wins by Brady mean nothing to this bunch. You're right. Wins by the Patriots certainly do though.

    I also do get the sense that Hendry feels Juan Pierre can rebound from his not-so-good OBP in 2005. My sense is that he'd want Dusty to bat Furcal first and Pierre 2nd if he got both of them. Furcal Pierre Lee Ramirez Above average right fielder? Murton Barrett Cedeno I'd be happy with that lineup.

    Nothing. There's nothing wrong with Guillen winning it either. Both were the right choices, IMO.

    I'm not sure there is a right way to use Neifi. Sure there is - to make coffee, grab Dusty more toothpicks, give random high fives, etc.

    Maybe this is Hendry giving Dusty one last chance to use the players in the right way before he cans him? Maybe? Okay, I admit I'm just looking for something positive in all of this.

    Should we have no bench then because Dusty doesn't use it right? Should we only have rookie options at 2B therefore Dusty must play a rookie? Through all the complaining I've heard about this re-signing, I haven't heard anyone suggest an alternative for the backup role. I'd prefer the route of Furcal at SS, Walker at 2B, Cedeno at backup... but Hendry has said that Cedeno's planned to start so I think Cedeno is at 2B with Furcal or SS with no Furcal. Neifi is insurance in case Cedeno falls apart and a normal backup otherwise. In that context, who would be better at backup? Make sure it's someone Dusty likes less than Cedeno so that Cedeno will be first choice? Yeah, let's build a team playing juvenile mind games with our manager! Neifi is a fine sub and he's fine insurance for starting a rookie. I very much doubt that Neifi is going to be starting with a .300 OBP over Cedeno if Cedeno is hitting better. If Cedeno is good enough to start, he WILL. Cedeno wont start over Neifi with Dustbrain running this team. Even if Ronny wins the job in ST, a two game slump will lead to him being benched for the season.

    I don't see anything special about Mench. Surely with the money we have to spend, we can do better than this for right field.

    On one hand, bringing Neifi back isn't a bad move because he can play more than one position and he can get base hits off the bench. However, two years is just flat out stupid and with Dustbrain at the helms, there's a good chance that Neifi will start everyday. Man I really hope that this isn't true. What's next? Macias signed to a 7 year extension?

    Here at Mizzou, we've come to the conclusion that kU is not worthy of capitalization. I think you guys just don't understand the rules. :wink: It's funny, our students newspapers have even taken on the idea of not capitalizing the k in kU. That is a pretty good picture you have in your sig, but I don't know if it tops the one that I used to have of the two kU basketball players where one was bent over.
