    Me too...sort of...Kids day care is closed today...I told the wife that if I "Had to" I'd stay home today... Mizzou...you gonna go watch Illinois whoop up on the tiggers tomorrow? Hah, yeah right. Like they stand a chance. I don't plan on going, but I might change my mind and head down to tailgate. Though after last night, I highly doubt it. You going? Just curious, but which team are you saying doesnt stand a chance? Illinois. I'm predicting a blowout. Mizzou is going to be solid this year. Just curious.... they playing in St Louis, or Columbia ? St. Louis, at the Edward Jones dome (where the Rams play).

    Lee has always been somewhat patient and has always struck out a lot. I'm guessing your impression just doesn't fit the reality. Every hitter with some semblence of patience takes good pitches. Patient, yes. Strike out a lot, yes. Take pitches like he's taken lately, no. He's been taking a lot of pitches that he used to drive into the gap. I don't know why, but I wish he's start swinging that them.

    How is this a topic? He sang "root root root for the Brewers", of course he deserved to be booed. He's also a great guy and an awesome announcer. I don't think anyone will disagree with either of the last two statements.

    This is directed towards the minor league faithful, but anyone who has any perspective is welcome to chime in as well. How was Ryno in his first year of managing? What did he do that you liked, and what did he do that you didn't like? Being a lifelong Cub, I feel that he is being groomed to take over whenever Piniella finishes up. I haven't payed much attention to his managing style this year though. So with that said, how was he?

    Not sure about the number of strikeouts, but in the games I've watched over the past couple of weeks, he's been taking a lot of pitches that he didn't use to take.

    Yeah, I was cussing myself as I wrote Romo up. I know it was a stupid move to take him 5th, but I thought he might have a breakout year. At this point, I'm considering dropping him and picking up Favre.

    Umm, okay. To answer the question, no, he won't get any votes. But we wouldn't be in first place without him.

    I don't think the Cubs payroll would be this high if we didn't have Soriano. In other words, I think Hendry was given that money purely for Soriano. If he would've failed to land him, I don't think he would've been allowed to spend that money in other areas. With that in mind, I don't have a problem with the contract. It was either the Cubs with this payroll with Sori in LF, or the Cubs with some hack in LF with a payroll considerably less. I'll take the former. Of course, this is all speculation. But I believe it to be true.
