  1. He could probably be signed to a minor league contract even without taking up space on the 40 man roster if he isn't picked up by another team. I still want to get a priest just to make sure he stays away.
  2. Despite depressed value, he is still the Cubs 2nd best trade chip right now (behind Walker). And since the Cubs still have a need, it makes sense to move him. If they can move him for something valuable, I'm all for it. But if they are taking crap back, Patterson is fine for the bench. Pierre shouldn't be guaranteed a spot past 2006, a little healthy competition between relatively young players would be a good thing. Does Patterson have any options left? Could he go back to Iowa until his stroke comes back?
  3. How many PTBNL do the Cubs have coming?
  4. Rondell = Murton bench Until he gets hurt of course.
  5. There's no bigger coward of the county than Kenny. He loves pitching for non contenders.
  6. He was hurt but he came back for the second half of the season I believe.
  7. He would be a nice 2 hitter and since the Nats signed Soriano is Vidro available?
  8. Me old. :( My first year of college we used punch cards for the computers. Good old Business 181.
  9. I like Gross and he will be a decent 275/350 15 HR guy that can play defense. Bush is a very nice pickup too and I don't know about Jackson. If these are needs for the Brewers they just helped themselves and so did the Jays.
  10. Is there room for Macias on the Iowa roster? If Hendry makes a 2 or 3 for one deal he can easily add him back on the 40 man after the rule 5 draft. In other words....I want an exorcist to rid us of Macias before I truely feel he is gone.
  11. Mad Dog, Swearing is not allowed on this site.
  12. Linda and Steve Levy both went to Oswego St...of course they know what they're talking about! :D
  13. Personally I think Patterson listened to too many people and that is why he is struggling. On Pie I think he is a young man who is very talented and hopefully will continue to learn and get better. I would trade him in a package for an impact player and that's it for now.
  14. Maybe if his arm is still hurting the Cubs could use him in a meaningless game?
  15. I would by far rather have Lugo and also Cedeno because he's so much cheaper.
  16. I agree but a GM/manager could talk to him and maybe convince him the advantages of playing in their city. I think Texas is one place he would accept a trade to.
  17. IMO if Burnett can get a 5/55 I can't see why a team wouldn't gamble on Wood, especially in a package.
  18. How is this not official already? It seems like this happened a month ago... They needed the Pierre trade to go through to open a spot on te 40-man And by waiting after the free agent arbitration deadline the Cubs don't lose a draft pick. I thought we wouldn't lose a pick by signing him? The trade clearing up a spot on the 40 man sounds familiar though. I thought he was a type C guy? I may be wrong.

  20. Is Flip Wilson available? You got my joke! Is Wilson at a decent price so he could be sent to Tampa for Lugo?
  21. they already have maybury who fits that description. Mabry should get the Macias role. Get another 4th OF type, like Bigbie. Bigbie-Murton-Mabry-Perez-Blanco is a bench I could finally support. Who starts in left? I think you only have 12 guys.
  22. I wonder if Hairston is going to LA? If Bradley goes to Chicago that would give the Cubs 2 guys that can play CF and the other positions are covered with backups too.
  23. they already have maybury who fits that description. I said good. I forgot about Mabry...I guess I keep thinking he will end up starting in LF
  24. I'd do the Floyd deal but not for Hill and then go after a good 4th OF that can play 3rd and 1st.
  25. This would not be a good move unless the Cubs plan on Flipping Wilson. :D
