  1. I doubt they would want to make a "rebuilding" type trade. What do they possibly have to compete now with the Yankees, Red Sox and even Jays? This team needs to be rebuilt the right way and Tejada would give them a lot of bang for the buck. I agree, I think they should rebuild however I don't think they see it that way. Then they will always be in the rear view mirror in that division. The Yankees need to get younger and Cashman has admitted that and the O's can get a huge jump on them in that regard. IMO....they better understand what this means because getting the Nomars and whatever other fadded vet they soon will be Detroit.
  2. No way. We'd cripple ourselves. In what way? Cedeno isn't going to play SS and he doesn't have the bat for second IMO. Pierre is going to sign a 3 or 4 year deal with the Cubs so that gets rid of Pie. The pitchers would hurt but they might be gone for a Dunn or Abreu anyway so why not get a bat that covers a postion that most teams don't have one?

  4. If the Cubs get a Floyd or Huff I pity Rusch and any other fly ball pitcher the Cubs have.
  5. I wonder what billiant poster thought of this a while back and was ridiculed and mocked in the senate!!! Mocked I say! I would give the O's 5 young players and take a bad contract.
  6. Here's the thread B. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=27346
  7. I'm sure Hendry is not giving up on trading him. I'd still pitch Patterson to Seattle, Anaheim, Baltimore and the Yankees - all need help in CF, and may be willing to take a chance on a change in scenery fueling his growth. One of those teams could sign Damon, if Boston doesn't. Maybe trading Cedeno and Patterson to the Red Sox for who? Patterson and Neifi for Trot Nixon. Can they trade Perez before June 15th?
  8. Gammons said that Detroit offered Howry more money than the Cubs did.
  9. 3 I believe... 1 here, 1 for Wellemeyer, and 1 for Van Buren. You mean Leicester not Welly right? Yeah. Got me before I had a chance to edit that out. Where'd Leicester go again? I know JVB went to Boston. Texas.

  11. Maybe Hendry will trade Patterson for a PTBNL?
  12. Maybe the Cubs should have went to a college of GM's instead of coaches? So far I'm pretty jealous of the Red Sox and Mets.
  13. Grow up. Let's please debate his point not hurl names. Thanks.
  14. Is there anyone on the radio in Chicago that likes the Cubs?
  15. Sounds good to me too. I think the Cubs would have to deal Hairston then though. I wonder how much interest their is out there for Hairston? Texas or LA maybe?
  16. didn't someone mention something about Vasquez having Philly on his no trade list? Opps. I suppose they aren't far enough east, eh? :D
  17. I'd take Hudson over Walker if I were the Rangers.
  18. So maybe a 3 way with Arizona/Cubs and the Phils get Vasquez?
  19. I'm okay with that. Given that there's someone capable in RF, and Murton isn't being benched instead of Mabry. EDIT: White-Pierre-Bradley with Murton coming off the bench wouldn't be terrible, and safeguards against either of the corners getting hurt. With the big defense thing going on with Hendry do you really think they would go after White? I think Hendry might not be as concerned as much with defense at the corner OF spots. Either way though, if that's the case, then Floyd and Mench are no-gos, and Pierre shouldn't have been acquired. I guess you're right! Does anyone have Whites numbers?

  21. I think they sent Hendry some crabcakes to close the deal.

  23. Yeah, that would be my impression. And maybe the Red Sox can add a player that TB likes to make the deal.
