  1. I'm stuck having that game on ESPN2 too. I refuse to watch BC play anything.
  2. My ticker just can't take it anymore!
  3. If Walker plays 1st and Baker likes him there, that won't help Sing or any other 1st/OF in any way as that will give Grissom the spot in the OF since the Cubs would have a backup 1st baseman in Walker.
  4. Everything was all happy and then someone has to spoil the party by mentioning Haggerty. Sorry. I was talking about Haggert, yeah that's what I meant to say.
  5. If Holy Cross beats Bucknell it could make things even more interesting for the committee.
  6. I hate how now a deserving Valley team who played a tough out of conference schedule will probably get left out because Syracuse, who plays no road games every year in the preconference finally decided to start playing. What about having the 6th toughest schedule in the country or playing the top 2 teams in the nation 5 times and maybe 6 if they go on to play Villanova? Plus, how did they just start playing and have 21 wins? And if anyone thinks UConn didn't care you are very wrong. They hate losing to us with a passion and think they own the BE. People look at one of those Valley teams if they play 3 teams in the top 25 they get all kinds of praise for playing a tough schedule but Syracuse plays 1/3 of thier games against top 25 teams and gets criticized for playing teams outside the conference in the Dome? I could also see it if the Valley teams had 1-6 lossses but they have even more playing in an average to slightly better than average conference with easy games in the bottom half which the BE, other than SFlor, doesn't have. Rutgers, St. John's, Providence, and DePaul are all worse than the top 6 in the Valley. But are they worse than the bottom 4?
  7. He pitches left handed for Indiana and and right handed for Purdue....now that's ambidextrous. Does he use both arms simultaneously when he pitches for IUPUI? It would be pretty cool to have a glove that you could put on either hand and not let the batter know which hand your throwing with until you step back.
  8. Maybe Woody should have had a little liposuction too?
  9. That injury (sprained ankle) is a tough one to come back from. GMac had one last year that he never could shake off.
  10. He's a very good player that most people have never heard of.
  11. He pitches left handed for Indiana and and right handed for Purdue....now that's ambidextrous.
  12. He's crossing the line into senility. Not only does he say stupid stuff, but he'll say the foul is on the wrong team and it'll take him 2 minutes to figure out he screwed up, because he'll be repeating his mistake ad nauseum. He did that in the late 70's. There was a reason why CBS fired him. Congrats on the Purdue win by the way.
  13. Haha Big 10 fans....you have to listen to Brent Mushburger!
  14. Both are out if it were up to me. Michigan's done, without my say-so. FSU is probably one of the last teams in at best. Michigan's resume is much better than Syracuse's, and especially FSU's. Even with today's loss. Main question will be what sticks in the minds of the committee tonight and tomorrow while they pick the field. IMO the committee is pretty good about keeping emotion out of the equation.

  16. Why don't we keep the stats on how many times Pierre is thrown out stealing vs how many times he is the front part of a DP?
  17. Nice win. It's also nice to see Boeheim being his old fiesty self...I missed him acting like that.
  18. How far baseball has fallen.....from Sosa and McGwire saving baseball in 98 to Perez saving the Cubs in 2005.
  19. Mark McGwire is a dark corner somewhere huddled up in a ball hoping the press has forgot about him. Since steroids were illegal in 2002 I see no reason why Bonds should be allowed in the Hall. Rose had a great career before he decided to gamble on Baseball and he's not in while Bonds gambled on enhancements...and got caught, we think. I will still wait until this is proven though. I dipise MLB for not testing Bonds.
  20. This is probably the reason why the Players Association/MLB agreed to the World games. They knew they were going to take a hit big time and are trying to get some good publicity before the you know what hits the fan.
  21. I admit Syracuse is on the fence and reallyis just above average but I don't understand the "Under 500" thing when it comes to conference play. If they were in the Missouri Valley or whatever they wouldn't have had a problem winning 22 or 23 games and playing UConn and Villanova twice while other teams in the conference only had to play them once was just plan stupid move by the BE IMO. I hate this 16 team non play each team thing.
  22. I like the fact that the pitching stepped up when the hitters struggled. Next time it might be the other way around.
  23. Even with a team of All Stars Lee still hits a solo shot! Maybe it's not Neifi's fault after all. :D
  24. Boehringer needs to have a WHIP of under 1 if he wants to make this team this spring. Even if he does that, he has no chance of making this team. Maybe. I'm sure the injury bug will hit someone before Opening Day and a spot will open up. That spot will likely go to either Novoa or Ohman, whoever doesn't make the team otherwise. I assume Baker is going to go with 12 pitchers. Novoa might need to be sent down unless he's out of options. I agree that it's a huge longshot that Boe could even make the team but if he threw incredibly well I think he would have a shot.
