  1. I take it Williamson is coming in since Walker is pinch hitting?
  2. Why can't Baker hit Perez 8th instead of Cedeno?
  3. Brian Mcann How do you figure? I don't really. Maybe in a year or two if Salty doesn't take his job. how many runs did Paul knock in today? Yep but Michael can't catch anyday. Will he always knock in 3? I'm not watching, so I don't know what your gripe is, but will there be a short hop play at the plate every day? Barrett is a good hitter, but how many games has he just killed us? Like with the play at Philadelphia when he threw to third when he could have reached out to tag Rollins. I would trade Barrett for a number of catchers straight up. Who? I think every catcher has his pluses and minuses.
  4. That's harsh, would you rather have Piazza? 5 years ago Piazza yes, now no. If you're referring to the relay throw, that was a really tough short-hop. I just watched Bako make the same play look easy for the Royals. Bako is a defensive catcher. You wouldn't have won 2 of the games against the Cards this weekend with Bako. You mean Blanco?
  5. Almost right. They caught Murton off second and then got Cedeno trying to get back to first.. Bad baserunning from both the youngsters. Right...a come backer to the pitcher and Murton was in inbetween land.
  6. I agree but IMO they are thinking is it worth sliding and getting hurt thus possibly being out for 2 weeks or more? Would that damage the Cubs even more than giving up one run? Plus in this case, the Cubs need Lee now more than ever to stay healthy.
  7. He eats right handed and always puts the tough to stab stuff or cut on the right side of his plate.
  8. Maybe that's why Bob made 5 errors. Once you think anybody but me you might as well get off the field.
  9. Commercial  Details plz!!! :P I meant how did Greg bunt into a DP? What did Neifi do? Greg popped up a bunt and they threw Neifi out at first as he was very far from first.
  10. Roger Cedeno stinks. :D Why is Neifi that far down? These pitchers have to help themselves with better bunts.
  11. Way to square to the ball. It better be an error.
  12. I think Monty Burns has a better arm than Prior right now. I just want Mark to come back healthy and ready and I'm in no rush for him to come back.
  13. Hopefully raining real hard too. I thought the whole idea of Mabry is that he could cover Ramirez in times like this?
  14. They should rename Around the Horn and simply call it what it is....Morans From Outer Space.
  15. Where was Vance during the 1960 and 2000 Presidential elections? :-k
  16. I think Lee is a solid investment because he stays in shape and will continue to work hard. Now to lock up Ramirez.
  17. They were interviewing Ryan and asked them for a funny story. He metntioned a time when Jennifer Aniston went into the Cub locker room. Dempster said by the way, she is even more attractive in real life. Anyway, she is wearing a Wood teeshirt and Wood is getting his chest all big and thinking he's the man until someone says "So you have a Kerry Wood shirt on?" and she says..."So that's who that is." Wood then shrank about 5 sizes after that.
  18. I think it was the right move even though I would have liked Weurtz to have pitched an inning or two before then but I think he did quite well. I would like to see some Cub pitchers get into the 7th inning to help this team too but I feel it was too early for Marshall at this point. I think he's ready to do it next time though and I like the way he (Marshall) throws as he is going to get better and better as the year progresses IMO. If he tires as the season progresses I think Guz will be to pick up the team and keep the 5th slot going strong.
  19. It just proves that when you win people are happy. I think Baker has done a decent job so far but I would like to see Perez at the bottom of the order when he starts and Weurtz to have pitched a little more than yesterday thus helping keep the other releivers more fresh. Hopefully Baker will have more confidence in the whole staff to be able to keep them all involved.
  20. I'm glad you pointed this out. I was mocked for calling Neifi's Friday start a spot start, but that was exactly the right word for it. Weren't you also mocking people that didn't want to see Todd Walker traded? Granted, he's only adequate defensively. But, his offense is much needed. While Barrett pretty much settled things last night with his dramatic grand slam, let's not forget that Walker worked the count and drew a much needed walk to start the 8th. A wild pitch moved his replacement (Hairston) into scoring position. It was only a 1 run game and we had Lee and Ramirez to try to get that runner in. OBP is very important at the top of the order and in front of the most productive hitters. I'm not so sure Neifi draws the walk in that instance. And considering how little playing time Hairston has seen so far this year, I'm not so sure Dusty doesn't have him listed 3rd on the depth chart at 2nd base. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hairston get some time in left or right. I still would like to see a big bopper on the bench instead of all the extra infielders.
  21. I just have this funny feeling Willis is not going to be healthy pitcher within the next couple of years. I would rather the Cubs invest in Miggy.
  22. Shea may be a dump but I like the easy parking and ease to the highway.
