  1. Wait until you go to a Dr. and he looks like your kid.
  2. Those are my top three too. The most fun to watch was Sanders.
  3. He might have a stipulation in his contract about pitching in the minors.
  4. I agree that MacPhail/Hendry should be the first to go because they got the players but IMO that ain't happening. That being said Baker has to go now. Why? -We have to se what Murton has -Leaving a pitcher like Guzman on the bench for no reason -Giving poorly skilled vets way too much playing time -Pitcher abuse -Horrible at strategy -Bad influance on hitters (swing away) -Where are the great free agents he was suppose to recruit? Hendry has built a very very bad team but Baker has made this situation as bad as it could be. Little League teams have better fundamentals than these guys and Bakers excuses and blaming others EVERYTIME has got to end. I'd like to see all 3 fired and let's get a fresh start from the top but IMO the Trib won't do that and they once again will just give Cub fans a little taste and hope that feeds their hunger while the bigger problem stays in charge and makes the moves that made this team the debacle it is. Also, is it possible that Hendry let Baker influance him too much on some player moves? I'm not saying this is true but it's possible. Not all the moves but some of the signings like Perez, Rusch and even back to Estes.
  5. Lou won his World Series managing in the NL. My post that you quoted is about Joe Torre. Or are you just stressing that Piniella should be the choice. I'm confused. Opps...I'm the one that's confused.
  6. It's going to cost you quite a few worms to do that.
  7. STOP THAT :x Just went to the coke machine and got a Fanta. I heard that's a southern thing...to call a soft drink a coke.
  8. Well the Cuse/Iowa series starts up this fall. You'll get to see another one of those teams up close. We used to do really well against Big 10 teams until the last Purdue game...yikes. I'm looking forward to the Iowa and Northwestern series we have coming up. As for top team, who did Penn State lose? I thought they had a heck of a team too. Penn State lost its QB, and most of the O-line, D-line and secondary Well...that would do it.
  9. With all the turnover in baseball if Davey Johnson was a premeier manger I'm pretty sure we hear his name more often I think there's some reasonss he's not in baseball right now. Davey isn't in baseball because he's a very abrasive person and rubs people the wrong way. He's a good manager, but FO types don't like him. I'm not sure of all the details, but he's been on the outs more for his personality rather than his abilities. Didn't Marge fire him because he lived in sin with his girlfriend?
  10. Wait, you guys go and ban someone I actually was winning an argument against? That's not fair. :x That's why we banned him. If he as losing an argument to you of all people you know he can't be too swift.

I will be at the Pitt/Syracuse game this year. It will be my first time in NY, and I am really looking forward to it. I believe PSU lost a rather large chunk of their starters. Don't know the exact numbers, but I am sure that Truffle or Derwood will be able to fill that part in. Why are you coming to Syracuse?
  12. I agree. But I do think he could be available for a decent package. I wonder if a couple good weeks out of Scott Williamson could entice them to bring back and ex-Red. I thought Williamson hated the Reds for what they did to him or was that another pitcher? No clue. If there's bad blood, that's probably not a possibility. He doesn't have a no trade does he? If Hendry really wanted to make him mad he would send him to the Reds. If I remember correctly when the Reds had a fire sale Williamson was quite upset on how they went about it.
  13. Cute....So many horrendous puns...so little time.
  14. With the crappy way everyone in this division has been playing, the Reds DO have a chance. Hendry had the division handed to him on a silver platter and screwed it up. The Central stinking like this makes the 2006 season hurt just that much more.
  15. Has anybody else ever been banned twice? If so, what's the record? Why do you ask? Are you hiding something? Looks as if we have another wiseguy here boys....whatya think we should do? He should be made to edit that horrendous pun in your sig.  Yeah it is pretty bad. I'll change it soon with something even worse.
  16. So he's going to play hard ball, eh? Up the offer to 5 years at 6M per Jimmy.
  17. Who was that left handed pitcher Siroka or something like that, that the Cubs signed after someone else payed for his rehab.

  19. Wasn't he on Fox? The Reds think they have a chance...let's make a deal they can't refuse!

  22. The thing is, I'm not sure how having disagreements with Baker would keep Rothschild from doing things like helping to improve the control of our pitchers or trying to get our starting pitchers to become more economical, though. I'm sure Baker isn't telling Rothschild to make sure every young pitcher coming up from the farm system remains a wild man or that everybody on our staff should be turned into home run derby pitchers. Rothschild really needs to go with the rest of them. Yeah, well I'm reaching. I don't think he's earned the praise he's received or the job security he apparantly enjoys. Maybe Hendry feels guilty about keeping him from the Detroit job and wants to make up for it by giving him another managers job. It looks as if it really paid off for Detroit.
  23. Lance Broadway and Brandon McCarthy and I'd gladly do it. OML... I'd trade Maddux to the Sox for either of the above. Actually, I'd give them Maddux, Pierre and Williamson for McCarthy. We're not going anywhere and McCarthy slides nicely into the rotation for the next few years. I wonder what Sully would think if the Cubs aquired McCarthy? We'd relive the 50's if that happened.
