  1. He sounds like an older Theriot. Why didn't anyone give him a chance I wonder?
  2. I hope he stays because Syracuse just signed a home and home with USC.
  3. Look at the polls gooney. Every Big East team that has the same record as one of "elites" finished behind them in the rankings except for Louisville which won a conference and still finished behind 2 2 loss teams and one didn't even win it's conference. Rutgers is the worst rated 2 loss team and is behind a 3 loss Oklahoma. In the coaches poll Louisville is 7th and 2 spots behind the 3rd place Big 10 team. Yeah, I want these guys voting on who goes. This happens every year in football for the Big East and this year they did not deserve to be voted down like this IMO.
  4. Yes. I think I saw a 666 on his head in that picture they had. People like to whine about Delaney and the Big Ten, but don't pretend for a second all these other conferences aren't doing the same thing, looking out for their best interest. People bitch about the Big Ten only making decisions based on money, but all the conferences that decided to start-up conf champ games are doing the same thing. Boise State chose to schedule a weak OOC schedule, and you can be certain that choice involved money. This whining sounds to me a lot like all the whining about the cheap tribune not having a high enough payroll. People are motivated by money. Sports is extremely motivated by money. These small conf schools aren't just noble knights fighting against the tyranny of the evil kings of football. If anybody wants to instill change, then it's up to them to make it fiscally sensible. If the NCAA were to go to some drawn out playoff format, not only would they be stepping on the toes of the bowl system that pays much of their bills, not only would they be lessening the importance of every big regular season matchup, but they'd also be going up against the mighty NFL, which now owns Saturdays in December. When and where are these play-in games going to take place? Where will the playoff games play? A major overhaul to a 16-team playoff is completely unfeasible and unrealistic. You'd be asking people to risk massive revenue losses all so we can find a way to get the occasional undefeated mid major conf champ a shot at the title. Most of the time, there isn't much of an argument over who the champion of college football is. Occasionally a team or two will be left in the cold, but almost always there is a pretty good reason for that exclusion. Now, because people want to whine about the 5th, 9th or 16th best team, all that gets thrown out the window? I don't see why the major conference schools, that produce the best college football teams year in and year out, should just hand over their guaranteed streams of income, and a system that already awards the "true champ" the vast majority of the time, just so we can find a way to complain in a few more years why the 17th best team didn't get a shot, and how unfair it is that the 2nd best WAC team is getting passed over by the 4th best SEC team, or why the Big East only got 2 teams in while the Big Ten had 3. Of course your happy with the system becuse it benefits the already established leagues like the SEC, Big 10 and 12 which by far would have the most to lose. Let's see....the Rose Bowl Big 10 and PAC 10, Sugar SEC and Orange Big 12. Yeah, I can see why they don't want it changed. I want bowl diversity instead of these tie in's if this is the system they are going to keep for X amount of years. I'm sick of the second best Big East team always going to the Liberty Bowl to face the second best ACC. I see your point about somebody always being left out which is going to happen no matter what system they decide to pick. It's how they pick them that bothers me.
  5. You could use the bowls as a play in for some teams too if they went to 12 like the NFL and the wildcard.. to your first post, the conferences determine their champion however they want. if a 7-5 team gets in, so be it. the 12-0 team probably was not that great. I think you could have a play in too. did y'all read the article on jim delaney? Yes. I think I saw a 666 on his head in that picture they had.
  6. You could use the bowls as a play in for some teams too if they went to 12 like the NFL and the wildcard..
  7. So long as the 8 team field is the actual Top 8 in the BCS (with no conference tie-ins) I'm all for it. But if a #21 ranked F$U gets in from the ACC, or Wisconsin gets the boot for being the 3rd Big Ten team, I wouldn't be happy. This is my problem with an 8 team playoff. Just like with the BCS, there is no way all the major conferences would agree to an 8 team playoff without their conference champions getting an automatic bid. There is no way you get a playoff with the top 8 ranked BCS teams. It won't happen. But the problem would be the good old boys would have 3 SEC, 3 or 4 Big 10 or 12 and USC/ND if you didn't include them. Also, what happens if a 7-5 Nebraska beats a 12-0 Oklahoma in the conference championship? There are multiple problems both ways unless you have a clause that says can't lose more than 2 or 3 games.
  8. What's Kincades OBP? Thanks for the info Chris.
  9. I do because it helps my college in the big picture. I look at it as a family, you fight with your brother and punch the heck out of each other but, if someone else comes after your brother you are there to defend him.
  10. I have no problem with him wanting to find out the 100 names because I want to know too. When is the steroid era?
  11. Did that big recruit QB from a couple of years ago stay on the team?
  12. Yes, getting throttled by good teams does not prove much. Needing to come back from down 3 scores against a bad team doesn't prove much either.* * - You can't have it both ways. Either GT sucks (ND beat them on the road while everyone else not named USC was playing I-AA caliber teams) or they're good (they almost beat WV). Pick one. Both teams narrowly beat GT. Notre Dame got whacked by the ranked teams it played. West Virginia split Louisville and Rutgers. Their ability to actually beat a ranked team makes them more qualified IMO. As Ndi as already pointed out, ND did demolish Penn State this year, who is back to being a ranked team. Also, you can't really count WV's win over GT as proof that they were more deserving a month ago to go to a BCS bowl. Let's say it was reversed. WV goes to play LSU, and ND goes to play GT (or a team about like them?). What likely happens? WV loses to LSU, and ND wins their bowl game, and then one could make the argument that ND was more deserving of going to the game. That's why you have to throw out the bowl games entirely when looking at who was more deserving. Neither WV or ND was on LSU's level (especially not if Russell is on his game for the entire game, which is rare but happened last week), but one of them had to be chosen to go play them. At the time, ND was higher in both the polls and the computers, so they were seen as the better choice-my guess is, the exact same thing happens to WV anyway that happened to ND. Again, these are your guesses. Let the teams play and determine it on the field and leave the mythical stuff out of it. It takes the what if out of it. People said the same thing last year before WV beat Georgia in the Sugar bowl, again they actually played and we didn't have to assume who would have won. LSU is a talented team but so is OSU. Look what happens in a one game situation as things change as the game progresses. It just amazes me that people still claim flat out one team is better than an other and yet were saying OSU was going to be a double digit winner over Florida. How did that game work out for them?
  13. Yep 6-3 is always better than 5-0. Do you honestly think that if the SEC and Big East matched up their teams from top to bottom that the Big East would come out on top? Florida vs. Louisville Rugers vs LSU West Virgina vs Arkansas South Florida vs Auburn Cincinnati vs Tennesee Pittsburgh vs Geogia Connecticut vs Kentucky Syracuse vs South Carolina Do you really think the Big East wins more than 2 of those match-ups? The problem is, we will never know. How many times can the SEC play the Big 10 in bowl games? 3 and 4 if you count ND. I also fail to see the bottom of the SEC on that list.
  14. I think it's funny how people can predict how many losses a team would have in another conference. You don't know. If you did you would have gotten all the predictions right. Each game has it's own dynamic and things happen that can change who wins at any time. You can make a best guess but it is not a perfect science, not even close. Florida could go undefeated in the Big 10 they could lose 3 games, who really knows.
  15. Congratulations Florida fans! You guys are on a roll no doubt about it.
  16. Yep 6-3 is always better than 5-0.
  17. What's Tommy mean...completely unnatural? Has he watched Florida all year and know this?
  18. I would rather have Jimmy Johnson talking than Lou Holtz anytime.
  19. That sounds like a good idea. Try it. Just make sure he or she isn't a hunter first.
  20. A couple of mistakes by Alverez but yes, they have been fine so far. Especially when Tommy B said the kicker stinks and he boots 2 in a row.
  21. How many deep are you right now? Beer or money wise?
  22. The way the bowl games have gone so far this year with teams blowing huge leads anything is possible, especially if Florida losses focus.
  23. OSU has to use short passes to get back in this game. Meirer says he wants the ball in front so OSU has to take advantage of that.
  24. They need some apostles thrown in there too!
  25. At least 50.
