  1. A little team speed and you might get your wish. This game is a funky matchup and neither team has played a good team as of yet. How OSU has slid into the 4 spot other than by name is beyond me.
  2. You kids are going to have fun watching that one! Kansas has played a horrible schedule so far but I give them credit for at least dominating all their foes. This is going to be a tough 2 week stretch for K-State.
  3. I can pretty much remember every loss that I've had as a coach and how it happened.
  4. It looks like the team isn't full of stars but not horrible either. The perfect B student.
  5. I know it defies conventional thinking, but I think Soriano is better when he's a free swinger. The few times that he's tried to be patient, he ends up striking out. If his production is reliant on his free swinging, so be it. But he shouldn't be batting leadoff. He's too old to change imo. Like it or not he's going to swing like this for the rest of his career and you're right, he does produce more by being in this mode.
  6. And it was served cold, much like the Met bats. Have fun talking about this all off season Met fans. And as a kicker, it takes some pressure off those 64 Phillies to. I pictured Ronnie and Ernie and Billy celebrating after that collapse and Fergie providing the.... well you name it he could provide it. It took us awhile and let's see the Mets hear the crud we've heard for almost 40 years. Now to win it for those guys you mentioned and the rest of us! Doesn't seem like ex Cub players are like are like an alum the way they continue to always be ex Cubs? I wonder if other players from teams feel this strongly about their former team?
  7. Wow...it's cheaper to fly to Arizona and pay for a 15 buck ticket than it is to drive to Chicago and buy a 500 dollar one. ouch, cheapest flight from Cedar Rapids is $630, $580 out of Moline only $244 from Des Moines Round or is your wife letting you go the one way route? It's always expensive to fly out of Syracuse but if I go to Rochester or Buffalo it's a lot cheaper.
  8. I noticed that no one is saying bad things about Hurdle anymore. What turned it around for them? Also, you have to give the Yanks and Phillies credit. They didn't panic and fire their managers after horrible starts. I wish we had a bizzaro chance and could see how they would have done if they did fire their managers.
  9. I don't know about his knees but I do know that many Met fans are calling him soft and want him out.

  11. this is the strategy I would use. So it's decided. The Cubs will sweep in the west and there we will have the peace.
  12. Well stay safe and wear some type of protection. We don't need another bad statistic.
  13. They traded Freddie Bynum for Hart It was Scott Moore and Rocky Cherry for Trachsel. Cherry was awful for Baltimore after the trade and is now 28 years old. The chances of him re-gaining and becoming a good reliever at this time is less than 50/50. Bynum is a low OBP above average slugging guy with great speed who plays bad defense. Moore is the key to these two trades. He was also pretty terrible in his cup of coffee with Baltimore, but he turns 24 in a few weeks so he still has time. So it could be a Hart for Moore. Thanks.
  14. Does Hill ever use a snap throw over to first?
  15. Don't forget the black cat and Durham having a grounder go through his legs. Yeah, we're going to have some real good stuff thrown at us.
  16. Please remind me who the Cubs traded for Hart and Trex? I know they were 2 separate trades but I was just wondering who the Cubs gave up for both.
  17. Didn't he used to manage the Mets?
  18. I was wondering if there was a way to sneak Beltran off the Mets roster somehow? If the GM is feeling pressure, maybe Omar would wilt and make a trade involving Carlos. The Cubs have some good young pitching and that's where they faltered, maybe it's time to take advantage of this situation.
  19. Darn, oh well. Maybe Elias can look back at his every AB and change a double into a triple or something.

  21. cuz the people who vote look at records only Plus they have a QB who throws for 500 yards a game against HS teams. same reason why Boise St. played in the Fiesta last year. Boise was good though.
  22. Sorry Kansas St since we voted Texas so high we still have to have them ahead of you in the polls. I'm just amazed that people that are actually PAID to watch these things still vote like this.

  24. I can't figure out how Hawaii gets to move up when they haven't and won't play anyone good all year.
  25. :D :D :D :D :D :D Florida losing made me happy. That's all I have to say. I was glad to see it as well. I think UK can match up pretty well against UF. If you gave straight up odds, I'd take the Gators, hopefully Lexington and a beatable pass defense can give UK some chance of knocking them off. I don't know if you can stop that QB run thing they have. I think will be the key for you.
