  1. Very true! Maybe they can play "Where's Bartman" if they get bored.
  2. Come on, no way are the Red Sox fans superstitious!
  3. Whether we win or lose, I can't see the D-Backs getting 5 runs off of Z. Their offense is really not good. Be ready to be surprised because the biorhythms say otherwise. I just got off the phone with Nancy Reagen and she agrees.
  4. Pitchers adjusted and have gone up higher and outside. Nice job.
  5. Welcome to the good side. East side....strong side.
  6. 7-4 DBacks tonight. Z has a 6 inning 5 run line.
  7. The Phils have to start hitting that outside pitch by going the other way instead of trying to pull it.
  8. I hope these games are all high scoring and both teams use all their pitchers and burn them out for the next series.
  9. This ump is going to make this a high scoring affair.
  10. I count four, unless Anaheim doesn't count. I agree though - game 163 definitely increased my interest in that series, and the field of teams looks like it could make to be a great october. I just don't see them having the TV pull as NY, Boston and Chicago do. If it were the Dodgers, maybe, I might be wrong though. It was a heck of a lead in no doubt about that. You certainly are wrong - maybe outside of Southern California but in LA, the Angels are really popular. Moreno has done a great job (plus the Angels being much better than the Dodgers this decade) and the Angels have nearly as big a fanbase in the LA area as the Dodgers. The Angels definitely are a big market team and have successfully tapped into Los Angeles, the Inland Empire (2.5 million residents) and obviously Orange County (2 million residents). No national appeal though. That's what I consider a big market.
  11. Squeeze away...that's tight.
  12. I had a kid run from 3rd with a 3/2 2 out bases loaded situation and almost get killed by the batters bat. it scared the heck out of me.
  13. Do you think that crossed up the catcher? Wow.
  14. I was in the bleachers for this game. It was the most dumbfounded I'd ever seen a Wrigley crowd before. And I never want to see that again. I had that same look when Dusty started him time and time again.
  15. That's why a bunch of Card and Sox fans bought up all the tickets along edges of the walls. They're out there, I just know it.
  16. Here's the thing: Sometimes you've got to go out on a limb. In '05, having watched the Cubs-Astros finish the regular season, I thought the 'Stros bullpen was pretty vulnerable. So I toyed with picking the White Sox in four in the Serious. But I chickened out and played it safe with picking the Sox in 5. So, what the heck, let's go with a Cubs sweep. BTW, I've got a great right-hand man helping me in Tim Sassone. He's our Blackhawks writer and a nominee for the writers' wing of the hockey Hall of Fame. Check out his stuff on our page. Tim does a great, great job. If he has the Hawks winning the Central I'll know you two have either spent too much time in the sun or the bars. Wait a minute, does this mean nobody is minding the ship up there in Minnesota for Thursday's game? We'll have somebody else in Minny. I think Tim has the Hawks 11th in the West or the Campbell or whatever they call the conference nowadays. Being a hockey fan myself, all I can say is: Drop the puck!! Go Wings!
  17. Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end.
  18. Maybe the WR's just entered puberty.
  19. Before the playoffs start I'm curious. Since we know the Cubs are in the playoffs would you trade this for not signing Sori and being able to sign ARod instead for 2008? I'm not saying Hendry has a choice in the matter I'm just wondering how you all would do this.
  20. Thanks and Please keep us up to date on everything if you get a chance!
  21. If he loses some weight I'm moving him to SS.
  23. I think TV has to be pretty happy with the 4 games. You have 3 big market teams and 2 of the hottest playing each other. The playoff game Monday really spiked interest in the Phillies/Rockies imo along with the great Phillie comeback to win the division.
