  1. Pirates are a Paul Skenes start away from sweeping the Dodgers.
  2. The Reds were up 5-0 after two innings. Jays have scored in every inning since and lead 8-5 in the bottom of the 7th.
  3. Oh, and the Brewers put up a 5 spot in the first inning off Nola.
  4. I look forward to Tucker not playing for 6-8 days before the Cubs make a retroactive roster move.
  5. Elder has been really good in 4 of his 6 August starts (@NYM, @PHI, @CIN, NYM). He was lit up in two of his three home starts in August (CWS, FLA).
  6. Fun Fact: Arismendy Alcantara started his Cubs/MLB career going 0-4 with two Ks. He followed that up the next day by going 4 for 6 with a double, triple, 3 RBIs and 2 R scored. In fact, after the first game, he went 9 for 21 and was a legend (short lived) in the making.
  7. It wouldn't be post Week 1 in the NFL without huge overreactions.
  8. Don't necessarily like the "Busch Treatment" versus lefties, but since Councill is on board with this line of thinking, I don't mind PCA getting the "Busch Treatment". At least not in the interim.
  9. Jesse Morse, M.D. @DrJesseMorse Micah Parsons He’s dealing with a sprained facet joint at the L4-5 level. While still annoying and can be painful, this is much better diagnosis than a herniated disc. Given the amount of energy and force that he generates during his rushing attempts, this is likely where the majority of the translational energy is going from his upper to his lower body and vice versa. An epidural, where cortisone is injected into this area can be helpful, but often only a temporary solution. Parsons would benefit from some really good physical therapy, OMM, and eventually restrengthening the individual lumbar ligaments with stem cells. At the end of the day this injury is almost always due to a combination of multiple ligaments being weaker or injured leading to this problem. More annoying than concerning.
  10. Two 1st Round picks and DT Kenny Clark.
  11. Unfortunately, the Giants are using a pitcher to start against the Cubs. And pitchers have vexed the Cubs hitters for a month and a half.
  12. Cy Fede just gave up a 2-run dinger. But of course, the Brewersalready have the tying run in scoring position.
  13. And six of there last nine. Offense still sucks but trending in the right direction.
  14. Current Cubs roster is 17 for 52 (.327 avg) against Priester with 4 HRs and 12 RBI. Current Cubs lineup is 16 for 46 (.348 avg) against Priester with the same 4 HRs and 12 RBI. Priester was pretty bad in his first start against the Cubs in Wrigley. Came back with a nice performance against the Cubs in Milwaukee. Current Brewers roster is 16 for 52 (.308 avg) against Shota with 4 HRs and 7 RBI. Current Brewers lineup is 13 for 48 (.3271 avg) against Shota with 3 HRs and 5 RBI. Shota got pounded in his first start career against the Brewers, last year in Milwaukee. He faced them twice this season, also in Milwaukee, and has pitched 10.2 innings and 5 ER.
  15. Any takers on this yet? What's the $$ buy-in? What are the scoring rules or do you have a link?

  17. I posted in another thread, but I'll repost here. Stolen from social media. Friendly reminder; this was the playoff results from 2017, where the Indians (Guardians) went 102-60 with a 22 game win streak. What the Brewers are doing is impressive, what the Cubs are doing is gut wrenching. But making into the playoffs is what matters, just need to hope this team can get in rhythm at the right time.

  19. Former Cub prospect traded to Nationals for Daniel Murphy back in the day.
