    Packer fans at a message board I go to are in full meltdown mode. The previous losses were tough but against decent/good teams. But to lose to the Lions. It’s kinda amusing reading the posts.

    A 4-spot for the Padres in the top of the 1st, looking good for them. Not so fast - the Phillies have put up 3 already in the bottom of the 1st and have a man on second with nobody out. Both starters knocked out without completing an inning.

    They don't control if they have a Top 5 payroll. They don't? No, they don't. Regardless of what the spend, any number of teams can spend more. They could have a payroll with a luxury tax and, theoretically, a dozen teams or more could still spend more than them. I get your point, as being in the neighborhood of Top 5 means their payroll will be high. They just don't control the place standing. Maybe stating a percentage of the salary cap would be a better measure.

    McCaffrey has been pretty fragile in his career. Buyer beware. And a 1st and 2nd is really like a 2nd and 3rd based on where the Bills will finish the season.

    Set the over/under and let's make a bet. Please keep your line consistent with your statement. They won't have a top 5 payroll, wherever that line is. They won't sign anyone longer than 5 years. They don't control if they have a Top 5 payroll.

    Cleveland sweep St Louis sweep Toronto in 3 New York Mets in 3 Gonna be hard for me to root for any team in NL. Probably Padres by default. I’ll root for anyone in the AL other than the Evil Empire or Dusty.

    Wonder if Covid positives are hitting the NFL. Seems to be a lot of players out today/this week due to "personal reasons".

    Saints always seem to have the "injury bug". And horsefeathers the last 2 seasons at QB doesn't help, regardless of the HC. Yeah, but the Saints don’t need a top tier QB to win. As long as they don’t shoot themselves in the foot, they should be a playoff team. But again, they keep making mistakes and seem unprepared to play, and keep hoping their D keeps them close enough to win. That's why I said they have "horsefeathers" at QB. Winston is pretty bad, and Dalton is old and not very good, IMO. The defense will keep them in games, and probably win a few. That "hands to face" on Lattimore was a brutal call. The following PI was mostly legit as the call was influenced by a poorly underthrown ball. Tough break for NO at the end.
