  1. Robertson gives up a 2-R dinger and a single, but holds on for the Cubs win. :flythew:
  2. Cubs put up 3 in the 9th to make it (currently) a "no save" situation, 4-0.
  3. Devers goes 5 in relief with 3 hits allowed, 1 BB and 6 Ks. In 21+ innings so far in A+, he has 3/15 BB/K and only 1 run allowed. Not a bad start.
  4. DJ went 5 innings of 1 hit/1R ball with 5 Ks but also 4 BBs. First win in AA.
  5. Bases loaded, nobody out, Rivas at the plate. Anyone wanna predict the outcome?
  6. Their playoff drought is nearly old enough to drink, the rules are a little different for them Doesnt Castillo have another year of control anyway? One more year of arbitration. Free agent in 2024.
  7. Last 1-2 years With the way technology is headed, I fully expect golf balls to have contrails in a few years just so the fan on the ground can follow the ball better.
  8. Stro wiggles out of a mini jam in the first; escapes with a 0-0 game intact. Third single of the inning allows Happ to gun down the runner at home.
  9. Steele got BABIP’d to death in the third. This game should be scoreless and he should still be pitching.
  10. What is the significance of "today"? Or do you just me that Smylie has a chance to showcase?
  11. I think CB blew at least 4 strike three calls in the game, one on a Phillie and then 3 on the Cubs, Wisdom being the last one. He's hilariously bad The pitch before the blown strike 3 call was a blown ball call. Pat should've been rung up on that pitch.
  12. Man on third with < 2 outs and the Cubs can't score. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  13. Jason Benetti with a rare Cubs call. Who's the analyst/color guy?
  14. You can also view it on another device using your Peacock subscription through Xfinity.
  15. Former Cub and Rookie of the Year runner-up Dwight Smith passed away at age 58. Haven’t heard the cause of death yet.
  16. Well there you go. Because I have the volume really low and am "surfing", I thought Buxton got the award. Turns out Mike Stanton did.
  17. I know it's expected, but how do you really give an MVP award to a player in this game?? Was there really a standout player? Buxton had 2 Abs and a HR. Sure, it was a tie breaker. But a solo shot in low scoring game in the middle of the game. Not overly dramatic at the time. I would make an argument that Manoah and Clase were just as "valuable" if not more. Both struck out the side. Or Stanton who got the AL on the board with a 2-run mammoth dinger. Or maybe every AL pitcher from the 2nd inning thru the 7th since no hit was allowed.
  18. Highlight of the game for Cubs fans has to be that "down in the count 0-2, but draws a BB" for Happ, right? Grant it, none of the 4 balls were even close, but hey. He didn't make an out.
  19. Nobody really thinks the NL can come back and win, right?
  20. Much like the Slam Dunk Contest, the HR Derby became repetitively boring after about the third or fourth iteration. Wash, rinse, repeat. Yawn.
  21. Despite 9 straight losses, I saw Nellie’s laser to gun down a runner at home, Morel’s energy to start a rally, and a clutch Nico with a 3-hit game including the game winner in the bottom of the 8th. Oh, and a win is always satisfying to me.
