  1. The "magic golf ball" theory. Up and to the right. Up and to the right. Up and to the right.
  2. Chip Caray is a horrible baseball announcer. The baseball "gods" did the Cardinal fans no favors this time.
  3. Schultz made two mistakes, obviously, but Dak made a mistake not clocking it at the 17 second mark. Instead, he hurried a deep throw pass out of bounds to stop the clock at 10 seconds. That play took 7 seconds instead of maybe 1 to two seconds. On the last play, I would've thrown a 10 yard out to the bottom of the screen. The WR has two blockers and SF is playing about 25 yards off the LOS. That would've put the ball between the 35 and 40, probably with 1-2 seconds left. And Dak should be able to Hail Mary the EZ from there. Instead, the tried that last gasp catch and a thousand laterals that literally went nowhere. Bad clock management (shocker, right).
  4. While not expected, World Series MVP would work.
  5. So he’s a bit quicker than Rizzo.
  6. Wasn’t part of the reason for taking a guy like Horton at 7 so they had $$$ to get Ferris in the second?
  7. I believe it’s Don. But the always use the dumb gameshow emcee tribute for….why???
  8. The Houston Texans is the worst organization in the NFL, by far. And, quite possibly, the worst organization in professional sports. The Washington Commanders might rival their awfulness Cleveland Browns fans are laughing hysterically at these last two comments. They aren’t the “Factory of Sadness” for nothing.
  9. The assumptions above being the Bengals win their division. Without last night's game, Baltimore no longer has a chance to win the division. With a Buffalo win last night, and the Ravens beating Cincy in the final week, they'd be a 3 seed and host at least one game. Now they're most likely a 6 seed, and possibly/probably playing at Cincy in consecutive weeks.
  10. Commotio Cordis, maybe?
  11. Pretty certain the outcome of the Bears/Lions game is meaningless to the Packers’ playoff odds.
  12. Tommy LaStella DFA’d by the Giants. LHH, can play 3B and 1B (sort of). Any interest?
  13. Philly gets the 1st down at the Dallas 19 with 34 seconds and a TO. Instead of taking the TO, the Minshew clocks it. Horrible decision. That gave Philly only 3 plays to get a first/score instead of four plays. They end up with three more incompletions, lose the game, and go to the locker room with that timeout. Bad coaching.
  14. Has there ever been a more vulnerable 12-3 team.
  15. It is. You can pick three of the four games, April 20-23.
  16. Do the Dodgers ever come out on the wrong side of a deal involving some of their more highly praised prospects? I be weary to trade with them.
  17. They have a few players that could be removed without much pain. The most obvious is Rivas, but McKinstry, Uelmen, and Rucker could be possibilities too. Not sure if this is what you meant by trades, but they could also be using 40 man players to get those guys on your wishlist too, Madrigal probably being the most likely. Regarding Madrigal, I certainly wouldn't sanction this. But is there any possibility the Cubs would keep Madrigal over Hoerner given Hoerner's success last year. It seems like prior to 2022, not a lot on this board were ultra-high on the Lack-of-power/light-hitting infielder named Nico. Then his 2022 season happens. He's still under control; for a few years, seems to have tapped into his upside. has shown to have some pop in the bat and would most likely fetch much more in a trade than Madrigal coming off of his 2022 season. I think as a SS, Hoerner has way more value to the Cubs than Madrigal as a 2B. But now with Hoerner slated as a 2B, how much more value is there versus what he could get in a return/trade? **edit/add** The Cubs obviously like Nico as he was drafted by Jed. But they also like (or at least were very high on) Madrigal as he seemed to be the centerpiece in the Kimbrel trade. Does Jed give up after one season of Nick? Trying to trade him after consecutive injury seasons would really be selling low. Again, I'm not advocating this, just wondering if it's something anyone thinks the Cubs would consider.
  18. So I'm sure this has been addressed elsewhere in this thread and/or other topics, but with the Smyly signing the 40-man currently sits at 39. Assuming the Cubs grab a LHH catcher, maybe a 3B and/or RP, who are the most likely candidates to be removed from the 40-man? It also seems like they have to make a deal or two, right?
  19. Don’t believe I’ve ever heard a prospect, or MLBer for that matter, be referred to as cute in a pro analysis.
  20. David Ross (kind of counts :dontknow: ) That's one more (or two) than is left from the 1908 team.
  21. Does MLB rules require all three to play on the left side of 2B?
  22. Arizona gets their first win against Arizona State in 6 years. Jedd Fisch looks like a pretty good hire for the 'cats.
  23. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/former-mlb-all-star-starts-massive-winter-league-brawl/ar-AA14jKLk Not everyone is a fan of HR pippin’.
  24. Was hoping Bryan Hudson would be a thing in the org.
