Until now, I've been thinking the critical date is Sept 1, when the kids come up. No, I'm not talking about the playoffs this year, I'm talking about next year. My thought was that when they finally admit the towel needs to be tossed in, and the kids are going to play, then Dusty HAD to go, or next year was a loss too... I now think that date that Dusty has to go to even have a chance next year is NOW, today, before playing the Cardinals. The team is dying and the fan support is dying. It has been for a long time. However, if we go into the next four games and lose even 3 of them, it's going to take at least a year to recover, and Dusty can't do it. Hendry needs to call a press conference this evening and get rid of him. Clean house, start over, and start rebuilding. If he doesn't, we will have to look to '07, and probably won't have a championship caliber team for several years, and it will be the next generation of pitchers... so much for Prior, Wood, and Zambrano...
