  1. dusty seems to not want to start glendon. probably the smartest thing he's ever said.
  2. todd said it's the hardest working coaching staff?!?!
  3. come on todd. unleash 2 1/2 years of frustration!
  4. Well that could explain the past two years. seriously. the way he is moving his mouth and how he is sweating right under his nose are typical of a person on cocaine. people high on cocaine also sweat alot overall. *shrug*
  5. he is a sweaty son of a gun. this is just my opinion, but he honestly looks like he is on drugs to me.
  6. why didn't you just take the great prospect deal then? you disgust me mr hendry. since your new draft guru is from toronto, you brought in a player that he had there. the way you work is laughable.
  7. meh. he probably will need to be pulled soon.
  8. wow!! I agree with that. But I have a feeling Maddux will be gone within the next 48 hrs. and it may be to an AL team. That makes no sense. He has the chance to say no, and he seems to have a major dislike for the AL. Why would he allow himself to be traded to the AL? i never heard him say he dislikes the AL What 40 year old pitcher would want to start over in the AL. He has a complete "book" on most NL batters. plus he has said before that he thinks the designated hitter is a joke and he prides himself with his abilities at the plate.
  9. He's already approved a trade to the Mets... and last time I checked, they are on the East Coast. link? seriously. i know when he was a free agent he said he didn't like new york and he didn't like the american league. i have yet to see an article where he approved a trade to the mets. everything i've seen says that as much as he likes to play golf with glavine, he doesn't like it enough to do it in new york.
  10. maddux is not going to the east coast or the american league.
  11. i wouldn't blame him. he is probably underpaid in the current market and would clean house in free agency. also, this city just never appreciates certain players and that's a shame.
  12. maddux doesn't want to play for any team in new york, and definately doesn't want to play in the al.
  13. No and yes. He stole home due to the fact there was a rundown (Cedeno) between first and second allowing Pagan to steal home. Note: There was a balk and each runner should have moved up. But, the umps missed the call. thanks for the info. i figured it wasn't a straight steal of home, but was curious.
  14. Ozzie Smith definitely belongs in the Hall of Fame. no. not so much.
  15. per rotoworld: Bobby Abreu - OF - Phillies The Yankees and Phillies were reportedly talking late into Friday night about a Bobby Abreu deal that might also include Jon Lieber or Cory Lidle. ESPN.com's Jayson Stark has said that the Yankees could get a discount by taking the full contracts of both Abreu and Lieber, as there's been little interest in both players elsewhere. The Star-Ledger reports that the Phillies are now discussing second-tier Yankees prospects instead of Philip Hughes and Jose Tabata __________________ seriously? second tier prospects? go get him hendry!
  16. i'm going to be on this bandwagon, as it seems this is what the cubs could have been in many ways.
  17. maybe betemit comes to the cubs for maddux after this? would that sound like a reasonable price? he's an infielder, and we all know the cobs need more of those.
  18. wow, they just keep coming. i thought this trade deadline would be slow. so much for that.
  19. per rotoworld, and the actual game ;) : Ricky Nolasco - S - Marlins Ricky Nolasco picked up a win while throwing 7 1/3 scoreless innings against the Phillies tonight. The right-hander held a no-hitter for 6 2/3 innings, but Abraham Nunez's chopper off Nolasco's glove in the seventh ended the bid. That was the only hit Nolasco gave up tonight, although he did walk five batters. The right-hander has given up just one run over his last three outings, but he's still a risky play against the Mets next time out. Jul. 28 - 10:54 pm et
