  2. I am ok with it
  3. right. and there's a rule that says you're allowed to do this. you sure are. you are replacing an injured player with someone from your bench. again, this is not what he would be doing. just put morrow on the DL. problem solved. If I didn't have Ian Stewart and I saw a better 2b free agent than OF, I could still make that same move and it would be okay. Injuries allow replacements, provided those replacements are within reason. I don't see his replacement requests as being unreasonable. I put Morrow on the DL since everyone seems ok with this... I dropped Cantu from my active roster and picked up another pitcher and left the 1B spot open...this will leave me with an extra reserve than allotted but hopefully ok with everyone... agreed. he is not replacing an injured player with a FA/reserve. he would be replacing an injured pitcher with a FA pitcher AND making a mid-week change to his offensive lineup. what does inserting ian kinsler at 2b have to do with replacing an injured PITCHER? we just need to allow all mid-week roster moves next year because apparently the current system is too hard to keep track of.
  4. I don't see a problem with allowing that change. I'm sure he'd prefer to just start Brandon Morrow if he could. Unfortunately, Morrow has become done for the season. Now he has to patrol the scrap heap and he'd rather remove a starting player rather than losing one of his reserves. I don't see a problem with this at all. lineups are due on monday. kinsler was not in his lineup on monday. he can't insert kinsler into his lineup mid-week. these are the rules that we have had for 75 years. if he wants to drop jose lopez or whatever and go with no 2b for the rest of the week so he doesn't go over the roster limit, maybe that's fine. but kinsler cannot be inserted into his lineup mid-week. we've been over this a bajillion times. If I can drop an active player and not insert a replacement, that's fine, but it does not solve the issue with more reserve than allowed. If it is ok with everyone that I have a roster error, then I can live with no position player for the rest of the week....
  5. Well I made two mistakes already with roster moves (fortunately non of them impacted the games) but since this is the playoffs I want to do what is right...
  6. If I place Morrow on the DL then I am fine with it I will keep him on the DL the rest of the season...I just don't want to drop him because he is not considered injured but will not play the rest of the season...
  7. The only type of roster change that I wouldn't allow in this type of situation, is one that gains you extra starts when you didn't have an injured pitcher. It also appears as though he will need to get rid of two people in order to make this roster move, because his reserve list is full and Morrow is not currently eligible to be on the DL. I put Morrow on the IR even though he is not but CBSsports allowed it...if I can't put him on IR, then I have to drop him; otherwise, I will have to drop a player I don't want to drop (Myers, Rasmus, or Kinsler) since technically, I can't put Morrow on IR (though he is done for the season)...I also had to drop Hughes (with eligibility) so I can get a sixth start (Hughes was skipped)...so I have to decide between trying to win this year or pack up and wait until next year.... If I can move someone from the active roster and dump them then I have a bit more flexibility to make a run at this year and not have to drop someone I want to keep next year (I already lost Hughes)... Thanks
  8. ok...at least I have a clear understanding of what I can or cannot do...thanks
  9. First question: I need a seventh start since Morrow is injured...can I pick up a player to replace his start even though he is not on IR? Second question: I need to drop a player in order to do this (I don't want to drop Morrow or my two bench players Kinsler and Rasmus). Can I drop an active player and replaced that person with Kinsler and Rasmus? I have made a couple of mistakes regarding this before so I want to make sure before I do anything especially that this is the playoffs. Thanks
  10. I'm taking Reggie Golden, CF, CHC Levin is on the clock............ Roady picks CHC RHP Hayden Simpson
  11. I guess I have to read the rules....did not realize mid-week changes are not allowed..sorry
  12. GOS receives Roady's own 2011 5th round pick
  13. Hard to tell with this year being my first year but I like a few of my minor leaguers... Pitching is fairly strong and I have a decent outfield (young with potential)...
  14. I am now legal...
  15. Just in case the admin(s) did not see my chat message, I am also done drafting. Rodelo
  16. 630-240-8070
  17. Nevermind...it was me...could not load using Firefox but ok with Internet Explorer...strange.
  18. Since last night, I have been getting an error message when I try to enter the draft room (something about maintenance being done); however, in another league in CBS I was able to access the draft room. Are owners having the same problem or is it just me?
  19. I want to add: Dan Runzler LHP SF Trevor Reckling, LHP LAA I want to drop: Brandon Jones OF Pitt I am now done...
  20. Gibson has already been picked...
  21. How is getting the #20 pick a steal...I would rather keep Lackey.... I think he was being sarcastic. With Eric's trade offers, I never know :D You've officially lost the right to say this. Of course I still can, I made the offer to Dustin :D As far as the best CF on the draft board, I am not sure if I see one (McLouth) or maybe two (Victorino) at par or slightly better. Span has one more year exemption after this year (he has two complete years). At first glace, I saw it as an even trade but sure in hindsight you always want more in return for your players but as long as both sides are happy it is a good trade.

  23. I wanted Markakis but Lackey is not a bad alternative... In case you were wondering, you and I are now arch rivals. I really, really wanted Lackey, and thought for sure he'd fall to my next pick. You can always make a trade offer :D Okay! I'll trade you my next pick (#20) for him. That's a steal, if you ask me. How is getting the #20 pick a steal...I would rather keep Lackey....

  25. You are only expounding upon my original argument, so I'm not really arguing with you on this. I agree with you. We just need to make sure all the owners aren't dropping these players because they are doing so based on their own interpretation of the rules. Here is my quote from the original prospect draft thread: If you go back and read page 3 of this thread, there are numerous posters discussing players they will need to drop to stay at the limit of 10 minor leaguers. We just need to make sure they want to drop these players rather than promote them to their major league teams. Here is my take on the matter (for what it's worth): Once a team is legal (which is prior to a draft), then it does not matter if the team is illegal or not until the next date that the team needs to be legal (which in our case, it will be the start of the season). So if an owner wants to load up on minor leaguers (during the minor league draft) or major leaguers (during the main draft), so be it, as long as before the start of the season (or an appropriate date before the start), the team must be legal on the MLB, minor league, and DL rosters. In addition, to make it fair, there should be a limit to trading (no cannot trade during this period if you are not legal) in order to keep owners from hoarding so they can make trades.
