  1. Also for those of us who were complaining about Howry's contract, it was mentioned on Comcast tonight that Howry had 2 better offers from other teams. He chose Chicago because of his familiarity with the city, the packed stadiums, and the chance to win. I wonder who was offering him more

  3. Nice win for the Bulls and a great job turning what could have been another year of the woeful circus trip into a pretty decent road trip. GO Bulls!!
  4. Could you give me a score and such Jon? Thanks for the updates they are appreciated.
  5. Since I know your feelings on the QB situation, let me run this by you. Let's say that Grossman is healthy this weekend and that Lovie, despite a 6 game win streak and a nice game by Orton this past weekend, decides that Grossman shouldn't lose his starter status to injury and starts him. Now, just for the sake of arguement, lets say that Grossman has some bad games, with a couple of key interceptions and that we lose to both Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh. What then? Would you ride Grossman out win or lose and possibly let Minnesota catch us? Or do you go back to Orton and say "I know you weren't good enough 2 weeks ago, but now you are"...? Barring injury, and barring Orton just completely falling apart, I just don't see how Lovie starts Grossman this season. I don't see how you take the only Bears quarterback to start 10 games since what...'95 or so...a rookie no less...and say "Sorry...7-3 isn't good enough...we're gonna let the guy who's started 6 career games have the start ahead of you." I just don't see it. The most popular guy on any football team is the backup/injured QB. I completely agree with everything you said. The best thing that could happen to the the Bears and Grossman is for the Bears to beat Tampa and then BLOW OUT Green Bay. I would love to see a blow out of the Packers for 2 reasons. 1) Well blowing out the Packers would just be fun.2) So they can bring Grossman into a meaningless game and let him get some game action and see how he does.
  6. I've been convinced of that since last year when he ran down Portis in the open field. Completely agree. Urlacher is the best MLB in the league. Also, Burnt, love the sig, that is awesome.
  7. This has nothing to do with the Bears, but it does have something to do with the Vikings and I thought it was pretty funny. From the Tribune. Seriously, the Vikings organization right now is pathetic.
  8. Here is a great article by Mike Downey Bears fans. Its a real good read. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/columnists/cs-051120downey,1,6271006.column?page=2&coll=cs-home-headlines
  9. Agreed on all levels. Orton showed me something today. I had been saying Grossman should come back and start, but after watching the first half I dont think so. Ortons numbers in the 1st half w/out those dropped balls would have been really good. We dont need out QB to win games, they just cant make the mistakes. If you take out Kyles game against Cincy he has had us in a position to win every game. I blame the Cinci game on Ron Turner because his play calling was horrible that game. I think after that game Turner has seen just how much he can give Kyle and has done a good job with him. By the time the playoffs start I think Kyle could be pretty special. This kid is a rookie playing in Chicago and has us at 7-3 WOW
  10. And you guys don't have an easy road left, either. At Tampa, at Pittsburgh, vs Atlanta still left. If you go 2-1 in those you'll get home field methinks. Well we beat the Ravens, and the Ravens beat the Steelers, so that means we automatically beat the Steelers right? No need to really even play the game... I like your philosophy lol. Well Big Ben will be back for that game so it wont be the same team that lost today. However, I think we have a chance in all 3 of those games. I think our D is going to rattle Simms pretty good. The Steelers will be a low scoring game, and ATL doesnt impress me all that much. I think if we pressure Vick he will throw some picks and the speed on our D should help contain his running hopefully. So who are we behind in the conference? The Giants?
  11. Wow Illini only up 36-32 at the half vs TexasPan American
  12. The Bears have given up 110 points thru 10 weeks of the season putting them at #5 all time for fewest points allowed thru 10 weeks. :D
  13. The BEARS and Dallas are in the same conference, you know. LOL yea I was thinking division instead of conference. My bad I think the beer might be getting to me after this win.
  14. Good luck to the Panters the rest of the way too. We will prob need their help with them knocking some teams off for us. By the way how is a tie breaker for HFA? Is it points allowed? pretty sure its head-to-head then its record in the conference. I mean what if the Bears and Giants tie who has home field advantage throughout? this is according to NFL.com on how to sort a tiebreaker: Two Clubs 1. Head-to-head, if applicable. 2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. 3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. 4. Strength of victory. 5. Strength of schedule. 6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed. 7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed. 8. Best net points in conference games. 9. Best net points in all games. 10. Best net touchdowns in all games. 11. Coin toss. Hmm so would the conference thing matter if the person you are tied with isnt in your conference? If the Bears tie Dallas or the Giants I dont think they have played the same 4 teams so it would be strength of victory then if Im not mistaken.

  17. These sources have said that Willis and Cabrera are the only 2 untouchables on that team, everybody else is fair game.
  18. Lets hope the Bulls can keep up the winning ways of Chicago today. This game is big, if not just for the teams confidence. Go Bulls!!
  19. There is not 1 team in the NFL that wants to come to Chicago in the playoffs plain and simple. The weather, the Defense, teams dont want that to happen but I sure as hell would love it.
  20. Im not worried about not scoring in the 2nd half. As soon as they got up 13-0 they started playing conservative which is completely understandable the way the Bears D played. No since taking any chances of a mistake. Both Lines played awesome especially the DLine...... However Peanut Tillman is still way overrated. He is sooooo frustrating at times. I do not like playing conservatively. It's not like Orton was playing badly. You cannot play not-to-lose. The defense played nearly a perfect game today. You need to trust the offense, especially when they are in a good position. Of course, if Moose doesn't drop 2 passes, the score looks a lot different. Understand what you are saying and agree to a point. I didnt get the feeling that they were playing not to lose. I just felt like they didnt see the need to go down field on passes and take a chance at something flukish happening. When your D is playing that well, just try to sustain a drive and give them a break, and them let them come on and keep doin their thing. The drop passes worry me to an extent, without them this is a 21-0 game. I was really happy to see Gage step up the way he did, takes a lot of pressure off Moose, and gives Orton 1 more weapon.

  22. WOW the board can't even handle the pressure of the Bears as it breaks again. My 4 sacks was a little low I guess. To all the experts out there you can kiss the Bears D butt!!! Time for them to SHUT UP!!! Ladies and gentleman.......THE BEARS ARE FOR REAL!!!!
  23. Tillman is SOOOO overrated. Why are you playing off right past the 1st down marker
  24. Holding thats the only way they can stop our DLine from getting to the QB right now.
  25. Wow was that an ugly pass from Foster lol
