  1. The safety better leave Grossman alone on the bench  Can our offense be any more boring? At this point why even drop back and attempt a pass, it isnt going to get us anywhere. Cant keep giving ATL half a field to work with. GROSSMAN PLEASE!!
  2. Yes, let's fire a guy who actually got us finally competitive and a guy who netted us Ramirez, and Lee along with drafting Prior if I recall right. Let's clean house on a team that's really close to being a playoff team (barring any injuries) because we had one bad year last year and are trying to fix the problems. Yay, we are competitive, woo hoo. A team with a 100 million dollar payroll should be a hell of a lot better than just competitive. 1 bad year? We havent won 90 games in the past 3 years. We lucked into a playoff spot in 2003 because the rest of the division sucked. The Ramirex and Lee trades were nice trades, but thats 2 things good out of numerous things bad(Rusch signing, Neifi signing, keeping Macias for as long as we did, Alf signing, and the Sosa debacle of last year) those are just off the top of my head. Hendry does not deserve a free pass for making us a competitive team, and making 2 good trades. This year should be either put up or shut up, and so far he isnt putting up. Its still early and things can change but if he signs a Jones, Wilson, Payton, etc...to fix our RF hole then he should be gone.
  3. Or the word "Cubdom" I hate that word and I dont really know why. But Mariotti is entertaining on ATH.
  4. Im not arguing one way or another with this trade. Im like others and meh. But does anybody have his attempted steals to 2nd and 3rd? Also was he more of a risk at getting thrown out trying to steal 3rd than 2nd? Just wondering.
  5. By the way, the Bears are back to getting no respect from ESPN. In this weeks power rankings the Bears dropped 2 spots, and guess who is now ahead of them? None other than the Carolina Panters, who the Bears embarrassed. Oh well I guess, but it just goes to show how stupid and pointless polls and power rankings really are.
  6. What the hell Phil? Not 3 hours ago he was on Comcast saying the Cubs were in intense discussions with the DRays about a multiple player trade with 1 of them being Huff.
  7. Its possible, but I think it was more of the Chicago media assuming something was being done because of it being delayed. My guess is Hendry was in the middle of discussions so he postponed the daily briefing, and now will go back to his discussions. I think by noon tomorrow something will have went down.
  8. The Score mentioned earlier a Patterson for Bradley straight up. I'll take it! Anyone else think they will play Hairston Jr. to CF, Bradley at RF and call it an offseason? No, Phil Rogers was on Comcast earlier saying that the Cubs and DRays have had discussions all day along about a multiple player deal with Huff and Lugo. I dont think Hendry sees Hairston as a starting CF, but more of a fallback or backup 2nd base option.
  9. I think Bradley is a Cub by this time tomorrow night. Cpatt for him straight up is what Phil Rogers was saying has been discussed today.
  10. Here's hoping Milton wasn't listening to AM720. Wow, those clowns all but smacked his grandma in the face. They are horribly down on him. If we get Bradley, the Chicago media is going to be merciless. Boers and Bernstein were BEGGING for Bradley today on behalf of all columnists and talk show hosts in town. Yea its going to be bad. What a bunch of bs too. I will lose what respect I have for the CHicago media if they rip him before he even gets here. I dont remember them ripping Carl Everett like they have been Bradlely. To be fair, Everett had disagreements with his manager and said the Boston fans were racist. Bradley allegedly choked his pregnant wife on separate occasions. To be fair, why not give the guy a chance in the city of Chicago before they start calling him everything but an axe murderer which is what they have been doing.
  11. What a bunch of crap. The Chicago media does this crap all the time. Screw them.

  13. Who appoints the manager? Exactly, you can't blame Dusty for the way things have gone, without looking at why is there. If Hendry had fired Dusty after the season, I would not have the same feeling I have towards in right now. I'm NOT getting into this argument, but I will say that while Baker was hardly impressive last year - his main problem was just pitching management. Losing Prior and Wood to injuries, and Corey imploding upon himself like the sun - that's what made us lose. He got signed to a three year deal, let him finish it. If we suck this year, can him. Hard to blame him for last year though. Bobby Cox himself couldn't help Hollandsworth either if you noticed. Bakers ability(or inability) to fill out a lineup card competantly was a main factor in our problems. Also it was Hendrys fault for thinking Hollandsworth was a starting Of. Most of the people here knew that Holla couldnt handle a starting job, and for Hendry thinking he could is another major strike against him. Hendry has tried riding this pitching staff, and provided a mediocre offense to go along with it, and hes done nothing to improve upon this.
  14. You guys can't be serious. Honestly. They are very serious. We lucked into the playoffs in 2003 because of everybody else in our division being terrible. We had a good team, and Hendry hasnt built upon that team in the following years. Finishing 4th place behind the Brewers is MEDIOCRE plain and simple.
  15. I have enough of a memory to remember Don Baylor, Andy MacPhail and Ed Lynch. So I guess 3 years of winning nothing is Ok to you? Thats fine just keep on accepting mediorcrity and holding nobody accountable. I would think after almost 100 years of not winning a World Series that fans might get tired of waiting, but obviously not.
  16. It's more than tiresome, I can't stand it. Some people have the memory of a goldfish, and have the art of knee-jerk reactions mastered. Are you kidding me? What is it that we are supposed to remember exactly? That the team finished behind the damn Brewers this last year? Or how about the fact that we havent won even 90 games in this so called best 3 yr period? Just tell me exactly what we are supposed to remember please? Also how is it knee jerk when it is a trend? Some people need to take their blue sunglasses off and see that this team has not done anything the last 3 years to warrant faith in Hendry.
  17. I knew it wouldnt take long before Goony was speaking out :D Agreed with everything you said. The Cubs definition of a successful 3 year period is quite pathetic if they or people consider the last 3 years as a success.
  18. Thats not saying much with this franchise. That excuse sounds so much like Baker or Hendry himself, and Im so sick of hearing it. Who cares the Cubs have had their best 3 yr period in 25 years? This team in 2003 was on the verge of being quite good, and since all they have done is go backwards. Im not a Hendry basher, but he is to blame along with Baker. The Perez and Rusch signings were pretty ridiculous this offseason. Hendry has not done anything the past 2 offseasons so far to warrant him getting faith from fans.
  19. CFIC, whats depressing about this? However Mueller would be a good pickup for the Cards. Im not to sure how well he would do defensively at 2nd, but offensivly he would fit in nice.
  20. Im sorry but if Hendry gives up Williams for Kearns hes a damn idiot. Williams is worth more than Austin Kearns. Hell it should be Kearns and a minor leaguer for Williams, not Williams and us throwing in a minor leaguer. Williams can be used in a trade for a lot bigger bat than Kearns.
  21. I don't think that's an option for teams. After hearing Bob Watson on MLB XM 175, it seems that teams may have some say involving their players' participation, but not the final say. Thats how I understood it as well.
  22. And the Bulls lose. Deng had 25, and if Ben wasnt firing up shots from everywhere when he obviously had cooled off, he probably could have had even more. Gordon is so frustrating at times arrgh. He is so hot and cold. Deng is looking really really good lately, and I think it might be time to put him in the starting lineup Skiles. The guy can average 25 a game if given the opportunity I believe.
  23. When Ben is off damn is he way off. He had a good first half but hes had a terrible 4th quarter, but keeps throwing crap up. Let Deng or somebody try something. Bulls down 97-94 with 45 sec left. Good effort from the Bulls after losing Hinrich early.
  24. Bulls down 95-91 with 2 00 left. Dirk has 33 points with 11 in the 4th. Hes good.
