  1. Great move, I just hope Dusty doesnt let him rot out there. Let the kid pitch, dont let him jsut sit for 7-8 days then bring him in. Good luck David! He'll play right away. Gotta give Howry and Eyre some rest! Good to see Novoa hold his own today. 7-4 so far. A lot better then I thought they'd be at this point the season. I was just hoping and praying for .500! Keep it up guys! I wouldnt be so sure about that. Dusty likes to ride the hot hand in the bullpen. Just look at Weurtz, he sat out there for long stretches already, and then gets brought in and stinks up the joint. Not saying its all Dustys fault for Weurtz performance, but not pitching regularly is not a good thing with bullpen guys. Dusty did the same thing to Welly last year letting him sit for 12 days or so, then bring him in, and go figure he was wild. Weurtz sat because Dusty didn't have a lot of confidence in him. If Wuertz had been effective during ST and in his earlier appearances, he would have seen more action and perhaps been given the benefit of the doubt when he struggled during the season. Dusty is known to ride the hot hand, and let the last guy in the pen rot out in the pen for numerous games. He has done it numerous times with young pitchers coming up for the first time. All I know is Aardsma needs work while he is here, and Dusty needs to get away from using Eyre so much. I understand why Dusty has used him alot, but at this pace his arm is going to fall off by July. We have a very good bullpen right now, however with our starters the way they are right now, we need to use EVERYBODY that is out there or else our pen will be in shambles come July. Eyre has the fewest outings in the bullpen except for Wuertz, who was sent down. Yea but he its because hes having him go 2 innings at a time right now, and throwing alot of pitches each time out. Where is he in innings compared to our other relievers?
  2. I'm not sure what's strange; he was ineffective and as a result, sent down. It's not like he's a guy with a long track record to fall back on. Perhaps if the Cubs rotation was solid they could afford for him to find himself on the 25 man roster but, as it stands, they can ill afford to keep him around. Wuertz had one bad outing, that doesn't make him ineffective. People are getting hung up over his meaningless spring numbers and forgetting that he was an effective reliever with peripherals pointing towards him being even better this year. Agreed, and how long did it take Weurtz to pitch in his first game? And then his 2nd? Bullpen guys need work, when they sit for long periods of time, they lose their control(i.e Weurtz, Welly). All I was saying was let Aardsma pitch if hes going to be here, dont let him sit for days upon days.

If Wuertz had been effective during ST and in his earlier appearances, he would have seen more action and perhaps been given the benefit of the doubt when he struggled during the season. Dusty didn't have a lot of confidence as well as all of Cubbie Nation. I have no problem with Weurtz being sent down. I wasn't high on him going north with the team after his horrible Spring. Dusty gave him the benefit of the doubt. It's amazes me how people look for just about anything to bash Dusty with. Where did I bash Dusty? I have no problem with Weurtz getting sent down, as he has struggled since spring. However, when you let guys sit in the BP for days upon days without using them, you cant be surprised when they come in and struggle. Yea he threw Novoa today, but Novoa has already been with the Cubs before. In the past when the Cubs have called up a young reliever that is making his debut, it has taken quite a few games for Dusty to actually bring them in. Believe me I can find plenty of things to bash Dusty about(like batting Freddie freaking Bynum in the 2 hole today) but in this case Im not bashing him. All I said is I hope he doesnt sit out there days upon days without getting used.
  5. Seriously, who didnt know the HR was coming? That was so obvious. When David freaking Weathers is your closer, you are in trouble.

  8. And now Juans E costs the Cards 2 runs and their bullpen gives up the lead.
  9. Juan E showing off the glove in the 8th for the Cards! Juan is AWESOME!!
  10. Wow! This team has looked real good the last 2-3 weeks. We are the hottest team out of all the teams fighting for these playoff spots. Orlando tomorrow night is not going to be easy. Howard is coming off a surreal game Sat night, and Orlando is probably the hottest team in the NBA. However, Im not about to count out this team, not after I counted them out about 3-4 weeks ago lol.
  11. Howard had 28 and 26 tonight? That's insane. Yea wow is he a beast. Orlando is looking real good right now, just to bad they started this run so late. They will be a possible contender next year in the east, along with the Bulls hopefully. Also, I take back what I said 3-4 weeks ago when I said the Bulls season was over, that they were to up and down. They have been playing some good ball lately, and Ben last night was unreal. The future looks bright as long as Pax doesnt mess up.
  12. Cards hoping that moving Juan down to the 5 hole would help him out....well that didnt work. Bases loaded infield fly in the first. Juan Rules!
  13. Our pen was awful. However the people we had in the pen at the time were not. Clement and/or Zambrano not being used out of the pen was assanine. If you can pick between Dave Veres and Clement/Zambrano, I think the choice is pretty simple.
  14. The Score 670 was reporting today that Neifi IS batting 2nd. Yea our manager is a dumbass.
  15. If he understood what it is, he would have never hit Neifi & Macias #1 & #2 LY has frequently as he did. Yea, I know but I was hoping for a miracle over the off season. Its going to be a long year if Neifi is batting 2nd again. If I was Lee, I would be so pissed. Its pure assanine
  16. Just to let everybody know, the Score 670 was saying that Neifi is starting at 2nd tomorrow, and yes he IS batting 2nd. Dusty hasnt learned a damn thing. So much for trying to utilize Pierres speed cause when Perez swings at the first pitch and hits into another one of his dp's it Juans speed wont matter. Dusty, do you know what the hell OBP is?
  17. So are any of these guys very promising prospects in Peoria? Veal and Billek are pretty much the only 2 names Ive heard. Anybody else I should look for while Im at some games this year?
  18. Unreal, this team is sooooo annoying. They have blown more leads this year than I can remember a team doing in a long time. Then you have the beautiful games where they were down 25, come back to take the lead, and then choke in the end to lose. ARRGH
  19. i just looked at both the Bulls and 76ers schedules and the Bulls have a far easier schedule for the final 14 games...I wouldn't say we are out of it totally, but a loss to the Hornets on Friday would probably seal the deal. Yea, but the problem is the fact the Bulls havent strung together a good 5 or 6 game stretch all year. I find it hard to believe they will do it now. They are inconsistent as hell. A good offseason however, could have this team as a top team in the East.
  20. The Bulls are done. Lets hope for a good draft
  21. I heard today that there is a chance that Hansborough from UNC might leave. If he does, where does everyone think he will go? Would anybody rather have him than Aldridge?
  22. See this is where the committe lost me. They punish U of I for losing to Mich State in their tourney, but Tenn lost early in their tourney and get awarded a 2 seed? So did they or did they not put emphasis on the tourneys? Seems to me like they just picked and choose what tourney was important and which one wasnt. Losing early in the Big 10 tourney to a good Mich St. team, should mean more than losing to whoever they hell Tenn lost to in a weak SEC. I think Bruce Pearls reaction said it all. When Tenn was shown as a #2 you could see Bruce Pearl saying, "holy @#$*". Now thats not a reaction from a coach who thought he deserved a 2 seed. The committee was a joke plain and simple. Ill be rooting for all B10 and MVC teams to win as many damn games as possible just to stick it up the committee's butt. Also I think Bradley is going to give Kansas all they can handle.
  23. Their center, Patrick O'Bryant, is pretty damn good. Thats my scouting report for you :D
  24. Issac Bruce was cut also, any interest in bringing him in? I have no clue what type of year he had last year as I dont follow the Rams, but I know hes had a pretty good career.
