  1. Free agency hasn't even started - we don't know what the final product will look like. Your slow :D Who is a big scorer available in free agency? Who is anybody that can make a difference that's available in free agency? I know the list isnt overly impressive, but I think Pax will find somebody who is at least serviceable, and able to score 10-15 a game which is all they need really. Not sure if this person is available in free agency, or if it will come by trade.
  2. Well WSCR still thinks the Cubs have a chance. Anybody heard their new promo? Something along the lines of "if you want to follow the 1 team in Chicago, who still can make the playoffs, then listen here for Chicago Cubs updates". LOL thats not the exact promo, but its along those lines, and basically states the white sox are done, and the Cubs arent.
  3. It's more than a feeling. It's a statistical method that he outlines in that article and evaluates against previous drafts. You're welcome to your feelings on Noah. I'm more inclined to trust Paxson based on his track record and trust Hollinger based on his stats. I hope you and them are right
  4. I, most likely in the minority, am. Two biggest needs according to experts were low post scoring and veteran perimeter players. As for the VPP, Cpt. Kirk is now 4 years deep, with Gordon, Deng, and (hopefully) Nocioni being in their 3rd year. Getting close to veteran status. Most people thought we could made NBA finals with that team last year. Add in another year of experiance, hopefully Thomas develops offensively downlow, and another shutdown defender in Noah, I am quite happy. Plus, As Deng develops, he's been working on his mid-range post moves, which would open up the lane more for our slashing, pick and roll guards. Welcome, always good to see more Bulls fans here.

  6. John Hollinger put together a college prospect evaluator for this year's draft. It's an Insider article. It was free when it first appeared a few days ago. That's no longer than case, which is too bad for the nonsubscribers because it's a great read and an interesting tool. Anyway, here's how that system ranks Noah along with the players you mentioned: 528.6 Noah 511.3 Williams 483.1 Chandler 481.4 J. Wright Thats one guy who thinks that, and he may be right we dont know, but Im sure we could both find numerous people who feel differently.
  7. Pretty hard to say they are the same team when free agency hasnt even begun dont you think? I hated the draft, and Ive made it well known I really hate the Noah pick, but I still have faith in Pax to make a trade or get a free agent to help this team over the hump. Its nice when you can actually have faith in a GM, just wish it could be said for every team I like.
  8. I think you're painting the absolute worst case for Noah without watching him play a single NBA game. Paxson's track record in the draft is outstanding. Even if I were down on the Noah pick, I'd still give Paxson the benefit of the doubt for Noah's rookie season. Your right, Pax does deserve some leeway. I loved the Tyrus Thomas pick last year, as I see Thomas with star potential. I just dont like the Noah pick, I might be painting it worst case scenerio, but its because I strongly feel he will never be even a 15-8 guy in the NBA. Just my opinion, and if Im wrong, I will gladly admit it. Lets just hope Pax makes some noise in free agency or the trade market.
  9. David Thorpe (ESPN writer; NBA player trainer) is very high on Noah. Which players taken after Noah are said to have star potential? 3 guys off the top of my head who were taken later and have more potential than Noah-Wright, Williams, and Chandler.
  10. This isn't the NFL. Multiple picks in the lower half of the first round are worth significantly less than a top ten pick. NBA teams rarely trade down more than a couple of slots. You can't think of a player you would rather have had at nine than Noah? I would have gambled on Wright probably. For me it comes down I feel that Noah will not make us a better team next year, in my opinion. The Bulls have to do something in free agency or trades now, or we will enter the season with the same team basically as last year. You think Julian Wright is closer to making an impact than Noah is next year? I can't see it. Same is true for Hawes. If your focus is on immediate impact and fit, Noah's the easy pick at 9. No I worded that wrong. I dont think there really was anybody at that spot to help us greatly next year, which is why I would have went with somebody with more upside/"star potential" than Noah. Noah right now is going to get manhandled playing the post, and if he bulks up a bunch then he loses his athleticness/fast break ability, and becomes a big guy who plays D and cant score. There are numerous guys like that in the NBA who werent taken with the 9th pick in the draft.
  11. List of past #9 picks: 2006: Patrick O'Bryant 2005: Ike Diogu 2004: Andre Igouldala 2003: Michael Sweetney 2002: Amare Stoudamire 2001: Rodney White 2000: Joel Pryzbilla 1999: Shawn Marion So yeah, not exactly a guaranteed "star" at that pick Where did I say guaranteed? I said trying to get a star. I havent seen anybody who thinks Noah will be a star in the NBA, where as there are people taken after him that have "star potential". And Id consider 3 of those 8 to be stars, with the jury still out on POB since he was just drafted last year.

  13. Not making a trade isn't blowing this draft. The Bulls will need to include either Nocioni or Brown (very unlikely) in a sign and trade to make any significant deal, and that can't happen until July 1. Seems a little early to me to declare the offseason over. Who did you want the Bulls to select at 9 from those still on the board? I would have traded down and seen what else was available then. Maybe get a pick for next year. I just think Noah is redundant on this team, and with a number 9 pick you should be trying to get a star. Noah will never be a star in this league, so trade down and gather more picks for later.
  14. What exactly was his sartorial game plan there? Put a red nose on him, and you have Bozo the Clown all over again
  15. Well thats the best part of this draft for the Bulls, but overall the draft still sucks
  16. So you are saying he at least has talent? Maybe Skiles can bring it out of him, but so far this draft BLOWS!
  17. Big, slow, lumbering 7-foot white guy. Yippee. THis draft sucks!
  18. Thats not what I wanted to see lol
  19. Come on get Curry with the next 2nd rounder! So far I dont like this draft get Curry and ill be a lil better.
  20. Aaron Gray from Pitt? Who is he?
  21. No but Curry is still there! GET HIM!
  22. Where's that ignore switch at again? I think that will go in effect for one month. Come on, Adam can be a servicable NBA role player. Not tons of upside, but he can stick around for a while with the right fit. He's much more athletic than he gets credit for (whiteness will do that), has a good pull-up game with a streaky outside shot and plays solid defense. He also knows how to flop and get himself to the line where he's deadly. He's off the charts for any teams looking at character/intangiables and will play any role asked of him, which can be important when you're talking about a guy on the end of the bench. There were alot better players available the Adam Haluska.
  23. I WANT JAMESON CURRY!!!!! GET HIM
