FWIW, Levine was just on ESPN 1000, giving a winter meetings update, and mentioned nothing about this deal. -

It worked out well last year. This year probably not so much. It did? An ERA near 5 and a WHIP of almost 1.4 is working out well? It worked out well for about 1 month(April) and then it was all downhill from there -

Didnt Milwaukee already trade quite a few of their stud prospects last year? I know they have Laporte, but not sure what else they have. -

I doubt that high, I'd probably rank him in the 12-15 range. Still not a bad get for 2 very replaceable guys, and we save money. Seems like a pretty good deal

Right and I agree. Luckily no one from Illinois will ever get hurt so a 6 win season would never happen. Little known fact, 3, 4, and 5 star players NEVER bust. When you get so many of them you can handle a few flaming out.

Oh and by the way, its being reported the Illini have landed Jarred Fayson. Yes the same Florida Gator Jarred Fayson, hes apparently transferring, and if reports out of Florida are correct, hes decided to join the Illini. Fayson was rated a 5 star by the way, and he runs a meager 4.4 40. I love Zook.

You guys will be fine. You'll some 6-6's and if things go well a good shot at the Big 10 title. Did you just say we will see some 6-6's? I really highly doubt that with the talent that is being brought into Champaign, and thats before they were making Rose Bowls, and beating #1's? From this point on I really see no reason the Illini arent at least 9-3 year in year out, depending on their schedule. We arent that far off from getting to be equal with Michigan and Ohio States talent level. Wow...one 9 win season and it's 9 wins from here on? Your talking about someday getting Michigan talent and I am assuming you must know they won only 8 games. You beat a team that played a horrible non conference schedule, a nice win but come on. Its called recruiting. Zook is bringing in top classes, there is no reason to see things go downward. Michigan only won 8 games, but they still have tons of talent, you know that. We beat a team that the coaches, and the polls show as the #1 team in the country, at their homefield, which is a bitch to play in.

Agreed, that would be awesome. Willis is overrated, and Bailey and Votto look reaaly good. So what is the over/under if they Reds get either of these guys, before Lincecum or Willis are on the DL? -

WEll since you said so I guess its true, and us Illini fans should just give up. I guess a coach cant improve and learn from mistakes he may have made as a younger head coach. I watched the Illini alot this year, and I really have very few complaints about Zooks coaching.

As Im sure many pro athletes have. Dukes more than others. While I agree that Dukes has been no angel, I think we would be surprised about some of the behaviors of professional athletes. I highly doubt Vick or Dukes is the tip of the iceberg.
