Ward hitting cleanup? Umm ok Lou. I understand Fukudome has been struggling but does it make much sense to let him face the lefty yesterday, and then sit him vs the righty today? I know his stats arent much different either way, but if you are wanting him to succeed I would think facing the righty makes the most sense.

I think what we have gotten so far out of Soto is what we will get from him in the future if he stays healthy. But thats my opinion

Doubtful Lous not that dumb when it comes to the linuep. Once we clinch then yes you will probably see more Hoff, until then you wont. Lou is pretty big on giving guys rest from time to time, especially down the stretch. He isn't enamored with Ward as an option to give Lee some needed rest, and Lou does like Hoff. He would have been recalled already if there was an easy answer of who to send down for him. I think we'll see some of Hoffpauir when he comes up. Lou even got him time in RF when he was up here before, that should tell you what Lou thinks of him. I know he's not a .951 OPS guy, but putting that up in the limited time he got means he didn't do anything to lower Lou's opinion of him. Yea Lou is big on rest, but hes also big on letting his veterans play thru their slump. During the middle of a playoff race he isnt going to bench Lee in favor of Hoff. Its just not going to happen, nor should it. There's a difference between benching and resting. Lou won't bench him. My best guess is Hoff will get 2-3 starts (maybe not all at first) before we clinch, and half or more after. Id be surprised if he got that many starts before we clinch unless Lees back is bothering him. Alot depends on how the rest of the offense is working out too. -

It was a routine grounder to second and the second baseman took his time and the runner beat it out. That play was hilarious. The announcers spent the next several minutes bagging on Lopez, but it really looked like Albert dogged it to go cover first and Lopez had to wait for him. Either way, great stuff. Yea that play was entirely on Pujols, but dont tell Stl fans that. Pujols can do no wrong

You gonna make it to the game? I had a group planning on it, but Ive had a sick kid for the last couple weeks and with that comes extra bills, so no I wont be able to make it. I really really wish I could. Should definately be a fun game.

This thread is fine. Boo you suck! Just kidding, but I was just trying to eliminate all the people complaining about the banter that is going to happen back and forth the next week. Last year it seemed like there was alot of complaining about all of it. No big deal, but with that said... Mizzou Sucks! Heres an interesting tidbit: since the formation of the Big 12 Conference in 1996, the University of Missouri's combined athletic teams have brought home a total of TWO conference championships. Congrats to Missouri Women's Softball, the 1997 Big 12 regular season and tournament champions Make Chase cry!

Just wondering if it would be ok for me to start a Illinois-Mizzou thread by itself? We have lots of fans of both teams, and just thought it would be easier and such. I wont start it till I get an Ok from a mod though

You referring to my comments? Yeah, the stats comment too. He was crucifying pitch counts. Says that "they" have a trained eye that tells them alot more than a pitch count. Then when discussing "holds" he was criticizing it(which I dont have a problem with) then went on to say that there are way to many stats in baseball now. The people in baseball can tell alot without the stats. He also said Yost letting CC throw 130 last week wasnt a big deal, and people should quit talking about it like it was.
