  1. ZOOKED! Zook is building a scary good receiving unit. Juice and Charest are not going to lack weapons over the next few years. Fayson, Cumberland, Benn, Scott, and Jenkins are going to be near unstoppable next year. I'm still worried about finding some quality linebackers though, but I've got to trust Zook. Im very anxious to see Martez Wilson get his shot this year, he is a freak of an athlete.
  2. yes. we're not talking about sox fans here is there any chance Sox fans won't do that stuff, just to make Cubs fans look bad, or because they are pissed? This sort of stuff is going to happen. Hopefully it's isolated and minimal, but it's a mistake to think Cubs fans are above bad behavior. i think it's more likely to happen outside wrigleyville I remember when the Bulls won their first championship, and it was pretty bad. The Cubs winning it will be probably 100x worse. Its the most stupid thing Ive ever seen in my life. Lets celebrate my favorite team winning a championship by looting and burning down the city...
  3. ZOOKED!
  4. 4; Schumaker, Pujols, Glaus x 2 Yea I was being sarcastic since Morgan and Miller have mentioned it about 10 times already
  5. Anybody know how many home runs Z gave up yesterday?
  6. I really hope the Cubs show some patience tonight, and dont go up hacking like LA did against Carp. Should be interesting since this will be the 1st good offense Carp has had to face. He got pretty lucky having his 1st 2 starts against an ATL team with no Chipper, Texiera, McCann, and then facing a pretty bad offensive team in LA.
  7. That was some beautiful D by the Nats wow
  8. I want to beat Chris Carpenter into submission today. Im sick of hearing about him coming back and being a force. I want an offensive explosion
  9. Kevin Jones has been cleared to begin practicing. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/huddleup/2008/08/kevin-jones-wil.html
  10. I totally agree. My worry is that it will work. I'm going to assume Lou is smart enough to have thought this through and prepared Z for it. All I know is Larussa better think about it long and hard and decide if he wants the reprecussions. We have some guys who throw awfully awfully hard in our bullpen, and I doubt he wants Albert or Ludwick taking a Jeff S fastball to the body. However we all know how Larussa works
  11. 'Bout 1 more rehab start and he'll be ready to go, lol. Yesterday was a pretty bad day for the Cards. Anthony Reyes yesterday 6.1ip 7 hits 1 run 1 walk 4 k's and the W
  12. I fully expect with Z on the mound, Edmonds to take one in the ribs today. The Cards will be hoping for Z to lose his composure and retaliate, and get kicked out. This has the makings of a Tony Larussa beanball game.
  13. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=50413&view=unread#unread
  14. Benie M is a hack.
  15. Lets hope this is the case. Id have no problem with Z pitching 5 innings or so in each of his last 2-4 starts
  16. Adam Wainwright rehab stint today..... .2 ip 4 hits 3 runs for a 40.50 ERA hahaha
  17. he traded delmon young, who's been mediocre, for matt garza, who has been good and filled a big need (starting pitching). they signed carlos pena off the scrap heap last year, stole dioner navarro from the dodgers in 2006, shored up the bullpen with a few guys, and picked up some nice role players like gabe gross. it really shouldn't be an award based on what you did last offseason, but what you did to build the team on the field in 2008. Yea he has made more moves than I remembered I guess. Guess you could argue for both
  18. Wait, he really did that? I didn't see the game. I'll check it out on mlb.tv later when it's archived. I didnt see a wave, but he did flip the bat in their direction Is that the opposite of mooning someone? Ha, I dont know, but personally I would have loved to see Edmonds touch home plate, and turn towards the Cards dugout and give them a double middle finger :D

  20. Jim Edmonds since All Star Break .323 .432 .742 1.174 OPS! HAHAHA
  21. Can you really give it to Friedman, when its Executive of the year? Hes done a good job drafting players in the past, but its not like hes went out and made major moves or anything this year. Just throwing that out there
  22. Hes had random back spasms for years, its not a big deal.
  23. Its starting to look like a very good possibility. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Aote7_s1e5uCQygDoyy09TIRvLYF?slug=jp-blackouts080708&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
