  1. how nice CSN we dont even get to see Bradleys hit
  2. The Gaudin release is even more puzzling since he's been throwing exceptionally well as a starter the last few weeks The guy has made 3 starts and has a whip of almost 1.5 and is allowing almost a hit per inning. Hes faced Colorado and Houston, who arent exactly offensive juggernauts. The one team he faced with a real offense he was shelled. I wouldnt call what hes been doing as "throwing exceptionally well". Im not saying I think he couldnt perform in out pen, but thats not saying a whole lot right now.
  3. I agree about Teahen, but Huff, Atkins, and Wiggignton are all guys who have no future with their teams, that are more than likely going nowhere this year, so even if they could get a few respectable pitching prospects, theyd probably be willing to move these guys. Exactly what pitching prospects are the Cubs giving up to get any of the 3 not named Teahen? When a team is down and out for a 3b like the Cubs are right now, what do you honestly believe the asking price would be? As much as Atkins isn't needed on the Rockies, if I'm Colorado, I just watched Atkins' trade value sky rocket over the last 24 hours. They already pillaged the Cubs for Marquis. "Hey Hendry, I'll give you this garbage reliever that you really do not want for this starting pitcher that is guaranteed to gobble up 200 innings next year. But, you need to pay for most of the starting pitcher's salary." "Duh, okay!" Colorado sure learned their lesson on that one, eh? If I'm them, I'm holding out for Vitters for Atkins. Oh, and the Cubs will need to pick up the remainder of Atkins' contract. The Rox have been actively pushing Atkins to make room for Stewart. We could probably get him for somethiglike Heilman, Hart, and a low level prospect. Same for the 2 O's. If we gave up Heilman, just who would you replace him with? There really is noone else in our system to put in the bullpen outside of Ascanio, and seeing how Fox was called up before he was, Im thinking they want Ascanio to continue starting.
  4. I didnt read this thread and really not in the mood too so could someone explain why Wells was lifted after only 85 pitches thru 5 inning?
  5. Meh doesnt cost us anything, and I like Freels career .360 OBP. Who knows maybe we can catch lightning in a bottle with him. Is Freel considered a good base runner?
  6. WWE Raw :banghead: What a society we live in
  7. So with a Favre/Peterson backfield, does that become the most turnover prone backfield in the NFL?
  8. I'm pretty sure the current one is 50/100/life keener's probably thinking of the original steroid policy, which was: 1st offense: lose hot tub privileges 2nd offense: mean letter from commissioner's office 3rd offense: stern face to face talking-to by bud selig. 4th offense: 1 game suspension 5th offense: 2 game suspension ... 500th offense: permanent ban from baseball. Haha, thats great. Also yea I was thinking of the 1st drug policy. Plashke is ripping Manny a new one on ESPN right now, he certainly doesnt believe the Manny story.
  9. And I laugh at Bears fans who think that Favre going to the Vikings isn't going to improve them and make them even more the fav for the division. SInce coming to Chicago Lovie Smith has had Favres number, and that was a younger, healthier, and better Brett Favre. Im not worried at all about Brett Favre
  10. It cracks me up El Cabello just completely ignores the fact that Favre is 40 years old, coming off a pretty serious injury that wasnt surgically repaired. The only way Favre makes it thru the entire season, is if he triples his pain killer prescriptions.....
  11. Isnt a 50 game suspension from failing your 2nd test?
  12. Seriously though, Pujols is probably the most prolific non-steroidal offensive force any of us have seen in our lives. His numbers are just disgusting. Thats quite the assumption
  13. Yeah stupid Blackhawks and Bulls making the playoffs. How ridiculous of them. Is that the reason behind all these games this year? I knew it seemed like alot of games this season have been on CSN+ or WCIU, but wasnt exactly sure if that was the reason.
  14. Oh look another game on CSN+. This crap is getting really old this year.
  15. Nice game tonight. If we lose to Russ Ortiz tomorrow night Im going to be pissed.
  16.
  17. Is this a preseason game?6 page game thread for 7 innings of baseball? And the Cubs are winning?WTF
  18. Glad to see Shark sent down(where he shouldve been the entire time), but I would have much rather seen Ascanio called up. Lets hope Fox has a little left in the tank
  19. the question remains: would Trammel do a better job? Who knows, but Lou being kicked out or suspended for backing up his player wouldnt be a big deal, and definately wouldnt hinder our chances at winning the 1-3 games hes suspended for.
