  1. Without a doubt. This teams starting pitching has been perfectly fine this year. AG in the middle of that Cubs lineup with a healthy Aram wow
  2. Lou has to get Hoff in there. Derrek's not helping the team or himself at this point. Yup Lee needs to be the supposed "great team guy" thats hes known to be, and tell Lou hes not healthy and needs to go on the DL. Wont happen though
  3. Ross Gload had one reversed tonight too
  4. Woo yup Peoria rained out, so Im going to the DH tomorrow. Wow Lee just wow
  5. It's certainly possible. Part of his problem may be his back, but I think his approach has changed as well. I am convinced his problem is a result of his trying to pull everything, which itself may be because he doesn't feel like he can wait back on pitches (b/c of his reduced bat speed), so he tries to cheat on the FB. Whatever the cause, it seems his numbers started suffering when he stopped going the other way as much. At the very least, I think Hoff should play until Derrek's back is 100%. Yea thats where my frustration is with Lee right now. He knows hes not 100%, and he knows hes got someone capable of producing pretty good numbers, so do whats best for the team and go on the DL, and get healed up. I honestly think Lee is worried if he goes on the DL Hoff will produce so well, that Lou has no choice but to keep playing him. Just my opinion, but its how I feel.
  6. Yea fun division huh lol... WALK HIM! WALK HIM WALK HIM!
  7. Because he couldn't catch a blooper with his back to home plate in a swirling wind, he can't play defense anymore? But yeah I believe the numbers say that he isn't the same defensive 1B as he was earlier in his career. Also, am I the only one that still isn't willing to trash on Derrick Lee and feels somewhat confident he'll at least be a decent contributor this year? I'm actually more worried about Soto than I am Lee, today's home run aside. No Lee offensively is done Im afraid. His bat is so slow its scary. He just isnt the same player, and part of that may be playing with a herniated disk, but I think hes done. See I remember people commenting on how amazingly slow Edmonds' bat was when we first signed him and he struggled, but then he ended up hitting 20 HRs for us and had a pretty good offensive season. Lee is 33 and while he is old enough to be declining, I don't feel like he's at all old enough to be completely washed up. I would be willing to bet at some point this year he'll have a halfway decent stretch of ball. Edmonds wasnt playing with a herniated disk, and coming off a couple seasons of losing his power since returning from an injury.

I'm actually more worried about Soto than I am Lee, today's home run aside. I'm not very worried about Lee, but I could see him going either way on a .650 ops or an .850 without my being surprised. On the other hand, 850 for your 8 figure a year first baseman isn't good. Id be ecstatic if Lee reached an .850 OPS this year. Id be more willing to bet on .700-.750 than .800-.850.

  10. HAHAHA and now its stopped raining? WTF
  11. [expletive] rain, I benched Gonazalez and Fuku tonight because I figured the game wouldnt get in ARGHHHHH
  12. Go and watch Carpenter. Ill be there, and I told O O same thing. 1st Chiefs game of the year, Im pumped.
  13. Ill meet you there if you want to go?
  14. Well now Im hoping for a cancellation since I benched Fuku, and Adrian Gonzalelz.
  15. He was being a pain in a playoff game thread last season. Here is where discussion of what happened to him began. Yea I knew it was you that was there at the time, but couldnt recall what he had done but I knew he was being a pain.
  16. Yea I see one of our ex posters is right there leading the charge too. Surprise surprise I don't think Ender was ever banned or anything. He knew what he was talking about, just talked about it from a Brewers slant, and wasn't obnoxious. He was fine. Actually I think he did get banned. If I remember right, it was for something in a game thread. I may be wrong though. Yea he knew what he was talking about for the most part, but he really toed the line on some stuff. But there have definately been alot worse here.
  17. I would. It's been raining off and on so far today, and tonights forecast calls for severe thunderstorms with hail possible. But who knows. Yea sounds like its supposed to get really nasty in Illinois today. Hope everyone stays safe, I hate these types of storms. Dont mind the little thunderstorms here and there, but the ones like they are predicting tonight are no fun.
  18. So what are the chances we get this game in tonight? I know where Im at in central Illinois its just plain crap outside. Id like to know if I should bench all my Cubs and Adrian Gonzalez on my fantasy team :D .
  19. Yea I see one of our ex posters is right there leading the charge too. Surprise surprise
  20. I like Milton Bradley. Just to add a couple more quotes from Bradley. That last quote right there about Scales home run is 1 of the reasons all his ex teammates have nothing but praise for him. The guy is like Z. He wants to win, and he wants to win badly. I love his quote about knowing hes sucked. It was obvious he was putting a tremendous amount of pressure on himself to do something. Hopefully a couple games like last night with the crowd on his side, will get him relaxed, and ready to pick the team up in Ramirezs absence.
  21. Just because they bood you boy Shark, there is no need to be that upset about it.
  22. Love Z being the 1st one at the top step to congratulate Scales.
