Just got back from the Chiefs double header, and like usual I had a blast. The 1st game the wind was blowing out pretty hard, but all 3 hrs the Chiefs hit were legit. Wasnt too impressed with Belivue, and I cant tell you how hard he was throwing as the radar didnt start working until after he was out of the game. Harrison looked real bad on breaking pitches tonight, 1st time Ive seen him so it may have been a bad night, but he was flailing away at breaking pitches. Ridling has some power wow. I was pretty impressed with his D as well, but his power is impressive. Vitters is impressive. The ball just sounds good off his bat. Brenley is a beast. Damn that kid is big, and his hr was a shot. For those who have been to Peoria it hit the top of the netting in left field that protects the cars on that road. Oh, and Brenleys girlfriend is HOTTTT, wow. Lastly, I liked Huseby. He has kind of a funky delivery, but he had 2 really impressive innings. Ok now for the 2nd game, Carpenter was impressive. He hit 93 a few times, but mainly sat 88-91, but his offspeed pitch was nasty. Only a couple hard hit balls against him all night, the 1st batter of the game, and Moreno(sp) hit a ball foul that had the distance. If he could add about 2 mph or so on his fastball and consistently sit between 90-93, he could be somebody to really watch. The QC starting pitcher I dont think hit 90mph the entire game, but the Chiefs couldnt do squat against his breaking pitch either. Vitters had a real good 2nd game, with every ball he hit smoked. I dont think he even had a defensive chance the entire game, so I cant comment on that. Now, regarding his ejection, in my opinion it was completely ridiculous, and just a minor league umpire trying to be seen. Tie game and base hit and Vitters tries scoring from 2nd. The ball clearly beat him to home, but was up the 1st base side a little, which gave Vitters time to head first slide to the back side of the plate. Where I was sitting which was 3 rows up, exactly on line with the 3rd base foul pole behind home, Vitters got his hand in before being tagged on his shoulder. Umpire called him out, and Vitters got up, and tossed his helmet to the ground(kinda like what Dye did) and the ump kicked him out. Vitters didnt say a word to the ump, look at the ump, nothing, but was still kicked out because he tossed his helmet. Noone beside Josh could possibly know if he tossed his helmet, because he thought he was safe, or he tossed it because he was the go ahead run int he bottom of the 6th inning and just got thrown out trying to score. Like I said, In my opinion it was BS. Overall a real good time like usual, and Im planning on going a lot more often.
