  1. Wow the Cubs finally make a smart decision.
  2. I think I read he would be evaluated today and see how he feels. So since this is the Cubs hes probably out the next 4-5 days.
  3. Its not hard to find guys in the minors that are RH and can hit LH pitching, but struggle vs Rh's. Also thats all we need is a bench player as Hoff will take all the starts vs rightys anyway. Had we had that "bench player" last night, there is a very good chance the game turns out differently.
  4. Lees ego probably wont allow him to be Dl'd. Im sure some minor leaguer can come up and play 1st against LH pitchers and give us about what Lee has given us so far.
  5. Lee isn't playing today and is scheduled for an MRI tomorrow. Then DL his ass and call up someone. This crap is getting out of hand with this organizations reluctance to DL someone. I understand not wanting to DL Aram earlier as there is noone else on the team or in the minors that could match Arams numbers. With Lee however the same cant be said. We have a suitable replacement on the team already, and have a few people in the minors who could probably at least duplicate what Lee has given us so far this season. This team is dumb as hell.
  6. i doubt it. he doesn't strike out as many guys as pedro in his prime, and he's been really lucky this year. .268 BABIP with a 20% LD rate, and 0 HRs allowed. he's allowed 45 fly balls; his career HR/FB is a shade under 10% meaning that he'd "normally" have given up 3 or 4 HRs by now. his numbers should be excellent, but once the fly balls start going over the fence and he has a couple of bad starts, that ERA will probably end up in the mid 2's or something. Kaufmanns pretty big, he might be able to keep the homer rate down. Also the AL Central is pretty terrible
  7. Ok if his neck is sore then DL his ass right now. We have a suitable replacement for him at 1st base, enough with this crap of playing a man short every single damn game of this year. Last night with Hoff at the plate with the bases loaded facing Mitch Stetter, whos holding LH hitters to under .100, yet RH's are hitting almost .300, and Lee cant take 1 AB and play 2 innings of D? This 1 incident last night could very well of cost us the game. Had Lee been able to take the AB, or heaven forbid, Lee been on the DL allowing us to have another RH hitter who can play 1st base, then we probably see Marmol the next inning. Im tired of Lees arrogance of having to play every game, and/or not going on the DL when its best for the club. We simply cannot be playing a man down at this point. On the same subject, why the hell couldnt Hill had taken that Ab, and moved to 1st base? The night before in basically the exact situation, Lou ph for Fuku against Stetter with Soto, but yet allows Hoff to face him. Lous decision making is driving me crazy, along with this entire damn organization. When the guy who is sore or has a minor injury isnt hitting for crap, and the backup to him has continued to hit, then just DL him and call up a replacement. Its not that hard to imagine that 1 of the kids couldnt duplicate Lees numbers so far.
  8. Thats Bs. That was a Baker like move putting Demp back out there to pitch. Hell he wont let Randy freaking Wells pitch after 85 pitches, but he will throw the guy thats making 15 mil or whatever it is back out there after 115 pitches. Its pure ignorance, along with alot of Lous other decision making this year. Its time for Lou to be grilled by the media but it wont happen. Lou is far from perfect, and I think it'd be awesome if we could tie his arms and legs together once the game starts and let Trammell make the decisions, but do you really think he's the appropriate outlet for frustration? Lou's made bad decisions, but I hardly think his decisions make the Top 10 reasons the Cubs are struggling. Oh I know hes not deserving of all the blame, but his decision making definately isnt going to help the Cubs overcome their shortcomings right now.
  9. For the love of God just give him the damn catch and end this game
  10. It should definately be Ascanio time, but Ill be shocked if it happens.
  11. Bob and Len seem to think Lou won't hold one. It wont be on tonight anyway because of the Blackhawks game
  12. Should be entertaining. I'm sure there will def be some bleeps in there. It will sound something like this..."AAAAAAAAAAnd, AAAAAAAAAnd, what am I suppose to do?"
  13. Thats Bs. That was a Baker like move putting Demp back out there to pitch. 14. Just [expletive] put in Aaron Miles to pitch and forget about this game for fucks sake.
  15. Chad Fox is the newest Cub to be injured. Id wager a pretty big bet that his career is over. Basically same thing happened that happened when he got hurt the last time with the Cubs. Time for Ascanio, but I doubt the Cubs will do that since it makes the most sense. They will probably call up Shark knowing Lou and Hendry
  16. Not a chance. Hes not the one who put together an entire bullpen with a history of command problems.
  17. Jeff started and threw 55 pitches tonight. Think that matters to Lou?
  18. I wonder why Hendry loves this guy so much? It doesnt matter now, because his career is done. The only way Hendry gets Fox now is as a coach, because hes not coming back from that injury. what happened to him? Think last time Fox got hurt with Dusty and it was the same thing. Threw a pitch that ended up clear outside RH batters box, and he started grabbing his arm
  19. Lou is to bullpen usage what Dusty Baker is to OBP
  20. I wonder why Hendry loves this guy so much? It doesnt matter now, because his career is done. The only way Hendry gets Fox now is as a coach, because hes not coming back from that injury.
  21. Maybe we will get to see Ascanio now, but knowing the Cubs they will recall Shark
  22. Fox's career is officially over. Sucks for him but its best for the Cubs
