    But significantly less disappointed that you were with his 2016. I think that's the overarching point. You said it, low expectations. I think we all have low (lower than career avg) for Heyward this year. Anything better, makes me very happy.

    Last year had a 5 man bench, this year it will be 4. Together Szczur and La Stella combined for 369 PA, and Coghlan had another 128. Add in that we won't be carrying 3 catchers and they may get a few abs.

    with 5 ml starter quality infielders, there's just not that many ab's to go around. Think about scenarios when LaStella would have played on this team. Not many. How often are you going to sit two of Russell, Bryant, Zobrist and Baez? That's true. However, when would Szczur ever get into the lineup? As a defensive replacement for Schwarber in a game where Jay has been lifted for a PH is about the only scenario I can think of considering the other options available. Can Seal Boy play SS? True. Whoever the 25th man is on this roster isn't going to get much playing time. So deep. Almost makes me think Kawasaki adds the most value as court jester. Almost.

    Why put Zagunis on the 40 man before you have to? You have 4 quality outfielders on the major league team and a Javy Baez that can push 2 more there. The 5th outfielder, Iowa shuttle guy is supposed to be someone who gets no playing time, admittedly more like last year's Kawasaki than Szczur. Unless someone loses a leg again. You don't have to unless the need arises, because Szczur doesn't really belong on the 25 man. The 40 man roster isn't much of an obstacle anyway, if Szczur isn't around there's an open spot, and Andreoli's presence on the 40 man itself proves that it's not stuffed to the gills with quality that you can't easily find space for someone. I'm fairly certain Andreoli isn't on the 40 man.

    Actually I think its pretty likely Andreoli takes Szczur's spot. if szczur doesn't make the team (prob won't), it'll be for lastella Yep. and Andreoli gets put on the 40 man and kept in AAA only to see real ML playing time if someone rips their leg off. Basically Szczur's spot.

The shock of you not doing that is no different than Andreoli taking Szczur's spot, in my mind. Actually I think its pretty likely Andreoli takes Szczur's spot.

    can you narrow down the range beyond "before 2010?" I had a baby in my arms... my daughters were born in 2004 and 2007. So, after April 2004. My memory is old beyond its years. Edit: found it!     I can't find any record of this online, but some time before 2010, the Cubs had 10 consecutive hits in wrigley. They announced over the pa that it tied a major league record. In 2010 the Rockies broke that record with 11.
