    It’s been a let down to read. Some big posters (hall of gamers, even) came up in spots where they could have given some great analysis, but really crapped the bed. At one point sofa was flailing away at the manager. You just can’t do that at this level. NSB is going to drop like a rock in the message board standings despite its true talent level being better and quality material differential being far superior. There have been (too many) times that it’s been a crap-meatball fest. The surprise knock on the Cardinals dead players and some nifty Addison Russell baby daddy humor redeemed you guys in the middle innings though. I think I’m back on board with this board. What a ride! Nah; Joe sucks. True, but fairly meaningless. The meatballery is BFIB level.

    didn't they go on their big winning streak last year when you were lost in the woods or something? Yes, and my streak of seeing them in person is currently 0-8, including a WS game and last year's playoff game against the Nats when Harper donged to tie it up. Today, of course, happened when work was dead enough for the holiday for me to have the feed on. Are you familiar with the double slit experiment?

    I really thought Chili was going to un-break the breaking that Mallee had done. Turns out Mallee didn’t break him, he just forgot how to hit or something.

    Blasting the Marlins twice, the White Sox once and the Reds three times in the span of two weeks will certainly help projections. Having the hardest SOS before that stretch (and 7th hardest to date) mitigates the impact of those two weeks.

    I agree with most everything you’ve said. The thing is the Cubs go sooo deep. The fact that you went KB/Rizzo/Wily/Schwarber but could have gone KB/Rizzo/Javy/Russell or Happ or Almora and made your point just as well is what tells the tale for me.

    I'm on record for not liking that trade here. It was a lonely hill. I don't think I spoke up much at the time, because I didn't have much to add to the conversation. I didn't like how much we gave up, but considered it the cost of doing business. Q brought a stability to the rotation that makes this continue to be a desirable destination for players.

    He appeared to be fixed until Duke wrote an article about Heyward and broke him again. Then he started a thread called “good things” or some horsefeathers. We are all doomed.

    This **might** have been relevant two weeks ago. But since then he’s gone on a tear. OPS in Mar/Apr. .448 OPS in May 1.143 BABIP has gone from .172 to .286. No need to update. Update is in: he’s fine. He’s always been fine. He will always be fine. Also, we already have a rizzo thread.

    A week ago my brother sent me a blurb that that division was 23-53 against teams outside the division. I can't imagine that has gotten much better.Yeah, but they are .500 against teams in the division, sooooo...

    Sound like tribune Cubs. I am so thankful for our current ownership/front office. Being a Cubs fan is sooo different. I had a fan of another team throw out the "once in 110 years" garbage this weekend. It didn't even sting a little. I felt sorry for him. He couldn't understand what a big deal 3 NLCS in a row is. That's the definition of a big window. And I feel like its just starting to open. To think that the true talent of this team is growing **from** a world series championship. Crazy.

    Are you suggesting Trinidad Hubbard wasn't a legitimate 3 hitter??? Poppycock! At least with him you had the excuse that Dusty was insanely thinking, "video game name = video game ability." Video game?! These kids need to get off the video games and go fishing. How are they ever going to understand life if they don’t fish?
