  1. I agree with most everything you’ve said. The thing is the Cubs go sooo deep. The fact that you went KB/Rizzo/Wily/Schwarber but could have gone KB/Rizzo/Javy/Russell or Happ or Almora and made your point just as well is what tells the tale for me.
  2. I'm on record for not liking that trade here. It was a lonely hill. I don't think I spoke up much at the time, because I didn't have much to add to the conversation. I didn't like how much we gave up, but considered it the cost of doing business. Q brought a stability to the rotation that makes this continue to be a desirable destination for players.
  3. Your math is leaving me an hour short. Rain again at 5 central? What I'm looking at I love how 49% chance is cloudy but 52% is thunderstorms.
  4. Have they given a time for first pitch yet?
  5. More like, “great suggestion, but we fixed that problem two months ago. Pay attention in meetings. Also, we're gonna need to go ahead and move you downstairs into storage B. We have some new people coming in, and we need all the space we can get. So if you could go ahead and pack up your stuff and move it down there, that would be terrific, mmmKay?”
  6. He appeared to be fixed until Duke wrote an article about Heyward and broke him again. Then he started a thread called “good things” or some horsefeathers. We are all doomed.
  7. This **might** have been relevant two weeks ago. But since then he’s gone on a tear. OPS in Mar/Apr. .448 OPS in May 1.143 BABIP has gone from .172 to .286. No need to update. Update is in: he’s fine. He’s always been fine. He will always be fine. Also, we already have a rizzo thread.
  8. A week ago my brother sent me a blurb that that division was 23-53 against teams outside the division. I can't imagine that has gotten much better.Yeah, but they are .500 against teams in the division, sooooo...
  9. This is why we love you Theo.
  10. Ways to get David to notice you. 1. Express complete garbage opinions. 2. Make clever robot joke. 3. Have awesome sparkley sig.
  11. I demand a gif of Molina losing his manhood.
  12. Lineup is about “getting rizzo going.” I imagine we will hear as much from our drunken manager in a pregame interview.
  13. Sound like tribune Cubs. I am so thankful for our current ownership/front office. Being a Cubs fan is sooo different. I had a fan of another team throw out the "once in 110 years" garbage this weekend. It didn't even sting a little. I felt sorry for him. He couldn't understand what a big deal 3 NLCS in a row is. That's the definition of a big window. And I feel like its just starting to open. To think that the true talent of this team is growing **from** a world series championship. Crazy.
  14. Are you suggesting Trinidad Hubbard wasn't a legitimate 3 hitter??? Poppycock! At least with him you had the excuse that Dusty was insanely thinking, "video game name = video game ability." Video game?! These kids need to get off the video games and go fishing. How are they ever going to understand life if they don’t fish?
  15. Are we not excited about a starter making it into the 7th anymore?
  16. Buehler...Buehler...Buehler...
  17. lmao "his teammate" If Javy doesn’t have to learn names, neither does Derwood.
  18. They’ve started so well/banked a lot of wins already they could end up being kinda Brewers or Cardinal like from last year. Kinda in it but not really for the division and a WC team until the end. They also haven’t really played a real team yet, Tigers for 3, Twins for 2 and Reds for 4. They’re probably still closer to a 78 win team than a 85 win team but the early wins/start will help them outperform projections a bit. Nine games have been played. Nobody has banked a lot of wins already. Going 7-2 to start the season turns a projected 81 win team into a projected 85 win team.
  19. I've been too busy to check in lately, but just wanted come by and say, "vaunted."
  20. I've been away from civilization for the weekend. Have we decided that the Sopranos gifs were killing the offense?
  21. Deitrich also crushed a foul ball. Like one foot foul and 500 feet long. Lester not as good as results today.
