  1. I just looked it up because it’s been a while since I did. 23rd in the league in K% and we’re closer to being 27th than we are 22nd. Rogers is such a horsefeathering dunce They entered Tuesday with MLB's second-lowest/best K% in May (19.2). And the second-best BB% in May (11.1%). And the best OBP in May by 9 points (.352). Those are good trends. Remember all those stories about babies conceived after game 7 of the 2016 series? No offense, but Your username makes me think about that but with STDs.
  2. You know who else STATCAST hated? Kirby Puckett.
  3. It’s a Schrödinger-esque experiment/demonstration of wave/particle duality. It’s actually pretty amazing what we have no clue about in this universe. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double-slit_experiment
  4. That’s awful for those kids, but that’s a ridiculous thing to boo a guy over. And knowing Rizzo he’ll visit them in the hospital, if they are still there, or send them some gear and signed stuff. I agree 100%, but the prevailing sentiment at the park tonight was that Rizzo eats babies.
  5. that thing was still on an upward path Beautiful.
  6. BTW, most of the talk in the stadium about booing Rizzo is “he hit three kids with foul balls yesterday and two were sent to the hospital” Not his fault and a stupid reason to boo, but it adds to the hate. I was here yesterday too. One of those kids was hit hard in the face.
  7. yes it hit the pole which is fair Definitely saw it hit something. Everyone here in section 1 (at the base of the fair/foul pole) is convinced it was the stairwell railing. All 12 of us.
  8. I’m sitting near the right field foul pole and Schwarbs’ homer looked foul. Bounced off stairwell railing. Replay on game day jumps bad. Was it definitely fair? BTW, I am officially Cubs good luck charm now. You all should buy me tickets every game. Also support my family so I can quit my job and go to all those games.
  9. Hitting Contreras is weird and cowardly. You hurt our catcher we’ll hit yours.
  10. Excitement level was up today considering it 250 degrees on the field.
  11. Monty, show ‘em why you think you deserve a shot.
  12. It demonstrates the principle in quantum physics that the mere observation of a phenomenon or process changes its outcome.
  13. 'K Is Bull an R-Mac type or something? What's the history on him that people seemed to get annoyed by his post? I thought it was funny and solid. I’ve been around since the inception of the board. I’m too busy to post most of the time, so I think some people don’t recognize me. (I’m looking at you david)
  14. Probably. I’m in a hotel outside Pittsburgh right now and going to the game in the morning. I’m so stoked about watching Monty pitch and Willy and half the other starters ride the bench.
  15. It’s been a let down to read. Some big posters (hall of famers, even) came up in spots where they could have given some great analysis, but really crapped the bed. At one point sofa was flailing away at the manager. You just can’t do that at this level. NSB is going to drop like a rock in the message board standings despite its true talent level being better and quality material differential being far superior. There have been (too many) times that it’s been a crap-meatball fest. The surprise knock on the Cardinals dead players and some nifty Addison Russell baby daddy humor redeemed you guys in the middle innings though. I think I’m back on board with this board. What a ride! Cool. Your esteemed approval is all we plebs are thirsting for. As I’m sure the cubs are ours. Just trying to wittily relay my experience of reading gam thread before reading box score as well as backhandedly comment that I’m as much a fan of this board as of this team. But if I said that, some people might get a big head. All in fun.

What a ride! Nah; Joe sucks. True, but fairly meaningless. The meatballery is BFIB level.
  17. I think it will still accurately show that this hasn't been fun. Well, for me, at least. It’s been a let down to read. 18. Started on page 1 and just caught up. And yes. Glad to know the season is back on.
  19. Welp, Ricketts mineaswell buy the urn for Yu's ashes now. It’s cool, duke said “somehow”. It turns out that’s duke jinx reverser. Try to keep up.
  20. didn't they go on their big winning streak last year when you were lost in the woods or something? Yes, and my streak of seeing them in person is currently 0-8, including a WS game and last year's playoff game against the Nats when Harper donged to tie it up. Today, of course, happened when work was dead enough for the holiday for me to have the feed on. Are you familiar with the double slit experiment?
  21. I feel like if you would loop that after he passes the door, you could make it look like he never stops walking.
  22. I really thought Chili was going to un-break the breaking that Mallee had done. Turns out Mallee didn’t break him, he just forgot how to hit or something.
  23. Blasting the Marlins twice, the White Sox once and the Reds three times in the span of two weeks will certainly help projections. Having the hardest SOS before that stretch (and 7th hardest to date) mitigates the impact of those two weeks.
