  1. Yes! Cubs are 9-8 (.529) since Bryant played his last game. Good for 85 wins over a full season.
  2. Aaaaaaand the team still has the best record in the National league. you left that part out.
  3. Somehow
  4. I know some of you think I’m crazy, but I love the rest of the division being so competitive. I feel like it gives the Cubs legitimacy and makes them play meaningful games that prepare them for the post season.
  5. In the category of really bad for a really long time: Frank Castillo
  6. Does “are you hurt, or are you injured” not translate?
  7. Get him, Theo. I’m only mostly joking. Would love to see him succeed with the Cubs after imploding with the Cards. I’m sure he won’t drop to us though, and I’m not sure where he’d fit on the roster.
  8. I mean Soler, Javy, Willy Schwarber. KB. Um, our whole roster. I think the implication was limited playing time. But then Edmonds wasn’t a great example of that. I think this is more of a Sam Fuld situation.
  9. No harm no foul, but probably not the best time of year to do that.
  10. Petition to let duke have a redo since last night was actually a minor league game. Provided he uses the word “somehow” at least once per gif.
  11. Buy them separately. Edit: out of stock. https://www.mlbshop.com/mlb-2018-all-star-game-patch/p-35081024172842+z-9646-1526883447

This rotation has been bad. Not “bad for a contending team,” actually bad. I don’t think you can count on anything from smyly and there’s a non-zero chance Darvish is dead. That said, there’s so little out there, that the cost would be more than a smart front office would pay. For goo or ill, this is basically your 2018 Cubs. That said, I expect more out of Hedricks and Q in the second half, and as impossible as it seems, the offense continues to improve. I think we have what it takes to roll the dice as well as anyone in the playoffs.
  13. Was I supposed to read this in a caveman voice? ‘Cuz I did.
  14. It would effect balls in play though. Extreme shifting makes it a bad idea to put the ball in play.
  15. Too ethnic Nah, Italians are fine as long as they get back to [expletive] Hill by dark. edit: profanity filter took out a derogatory term for Italians that is the name of a section of St. Louis that was historically an Italian ghetto and is known for its many Italian Restaurants today. Although now it is advertised and celebrated as "The Hill" it had always been Dxxx Hill.
  16. And Javy had the longest of the night, right? Cub had the most, the longest and the winner is a future Cub.
  17. Nah. It will be an all Cubs HR derby. Rizzo, Bryant, Schwarber, Baez, Heyward, Contreras, Harper and Lester.
  18. you're missing a 0 He's 03 for his last 30 This comment goes from somewhat clever to hilarious simply because of your signature.
  19. So I don't really kow what to make of his defense. Thoughts?? He is a lump who catches more balls because the cubs have three left handed starting pitchers and thus face more right handed batters, and because Almora is also a lump. Also everyone is running on his not awful arm giving him lots of opportunities. ETA: I’m mostly joking. Mostly.
  20. I feel like option two would open the door for Manfred to take other creative liberties with rules of the game.
  21. The Red Sox led MLB in SLG% in 2016 and were 9th in Dongs with Chili there. Idk, I think it’s just noise or other factors than Chili being a Dong/power killer. A chili dong. Success against the fastball? Chili cheese dong.
  22. Just looked at Rizzos stat line. I need someone to remind me he’s been great since the first of May or something.
  23. I thought the same thing. Margin of error: 10 pitches. That one was awful. only counts as .75 pitches. If you’re not sure you counted right, “about 30” is pretty safe and doesn’t sound stupid.
