  1. We have a day off tomorrow... shouldn't be a big deal. Anyway, did anyone thing the crowd reaction/tension in this game/energy makes this feel like a playoff game in April? That reaction to the Granny is reminicent of the crowd when Woody hit a HR in game 7, though obviously not QUITE as raucous. It just feels like a playoff game to me. Same camera shot as the Wood HR, that's probably why. that and the quality announcers
  2. They'll be fine the rest of the season. Their bad play in this series is all the fault of the cold showers.
  3. Izzy's ERA before today: 0.00 Currently; 13.50 I love the scewed stats at the beginning of the year
  4. I was just going to say that. It's not a matter of if they are going to mention it, it's when they are going to mention it. and how many times
  5. Derrek started off like a house afire last year. It was '04 when he had his typically slow start. Thanks. Obviously my memory filter was corrupted by the 2004-2005 debacle. I meant to reference the 2004 season. Yes, last season was a bit different as D. Lee had been a notorious slow starter. I will never claim to be a fountain of knowledge and I'm glad I have peeps here to cover my oversights! :D I guess 2004 and 2005 kind of bled together in my mind. I'm still in denial over the 2003 NLCS. I hear ya. I'm just now coming out of my cubbie-numbness from 2003. That's what happens when you watch the playoffs with Yankee fans.
  6. now arizona needs to beat milwaukee. well nevermind. milwaukee wins with a carlos lee walk off single, 5-4 Doesn't Milwaukee know they suck?
  7. Cubs WWWWWWIIIIIINNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. So it's ok to attack Neifi on this board, but not a precious former minor leaguer? Right on. It's not merit. It's personal favorites here. Whatever. An error is an error is an error. You're the one who seems to grade one error as worse than the other. Lee and Cedeno both made errors. One without the other leads to no runs. But with both, two runs scored. Also, Zambrano needs to pull his head out of his ass there and not get bent out of shape. He compounded the problem. Change the names and you've got a description of game 6. *flashback* ouch. I hate you for reminding me. /smacks Mr. Wood upside the head. Dude, I was already crying. You just...uh...compounded the problem. Or pounded my head. No, wait, it has to be your bull.

  10. True. They just need to take the blinders off for a second and be a little objective. Play nice.
  11. errors by Cedeno and LEE = 2 runs for the Cards. Let's cut the Bums. Both of em. (Convenient to only single out Ronny). Lee's error put the runner in scoring position. Cedeno's error wouldn't have led to a run, and possibly wouldn't have led to Zambrano losing it. winners don't make excuses. You're enjoying riling them up... Don't deny it.
  12. Jones with a walk!! intentional
  13. Cards announcer just suggested the Cards chose Encarnacion over Jones!
  14. no. they broadcast one feed. this is crap. Nasty runny bird crap
  15. Is there any way to get MLBTV to give me a WGN feed?
  16. Actually that sounds about right. He hit his prime in his mid-to-late 20's and his body fell apart after 30. So then why is Nomar falling apart at 31 a sign of steroids? I didn't say it was, but you used an extremely poor example as your point of reference. That was my point. Koufax was a terrible example. Nomar is an equally poor example. Their rise and fall are similar. Although Nomar wasn't nearly as dominant as Koufax - which, by the way, makes the accusations against him even more obtuse. The point is that just because a player becomes dominant then injury prone doesn't indict him of steroid use. Perhaps if I pointed out that the line you originally quoted was heavily sarcastic??
