  1. Kim Johnsson +4 in the game.
  2. Honest question: Is there any evidence that people perform better when they are happy? I'm sure there've been studies on it. It seems like people just assume that they'll perform better if they are happy, but they want to be made happy, so it's in their best interests to believe it.
  3. It's Cutler's fault. The TE walked off the field in disgust because Cutler threw too many interceptions.
  4. It's his medal, he can do what he please with it. He earned it. He can melt it down and sell it for cab money for all I care.
  5. Man, I wish Patrick Kane was cool like us.
  6. Castro listed as 2-for-4 with 3 total bases. Second hit must have been a double.
  7. 2 problems with that theory. One, Sammy was a Cub and McGwire was a Card, so why not boo him if that's your thing. Fans boo past stars of other teams all the time. Also, if you "ever" cheered Sammy doesn't take into account people who cheered him then and were changed their opinion later. Why couldn't they boo Mac? I guess they could if they wanted to. I'm just asking would they feel okay with it? I wouldn't. Obviously, if it's just because he's a Cardinal, it's different.
  8. Castro is 0-for-2, but he's got no strikeouts, so that means he's made contact in all five at-bats. /trying to squeeze anything from the nothing that is ST
  9. If you ever cheered Sammy Sosa, can you really boo Mark McGwire?
  10. Well I was referring to spending big money on the position, the Bears aren't. They have two guys who combine for relatively low pay for RB, unless I'm wrong on Forte's salary. No, I wouldn't spend much on free agent RB. I wouldn't have signed Taylor. That's not to say I think it's an awful idea, I just prefer keeping the meat grinder moving on young guys, and getting the most out of guys while they are at their best. I'd generally agree, but it usually needs to be a pick in the first two rounds to have much hope for success. That said, I'm not sure what's supposed to be so great about Chester Taylor.
  11. Shouldn't whether Chester Taylor is particularly good be of just as much interest as how much mileage he has on his legs?
  12. Taylor has 1028 career carries. That's about 3.5 seasons worth for a regular back.
  13. http://www.wondercliparts.com/thanks/thanks_graphics_14.gif
  14. Not if they throw for more than 2500 yards.
  15. So does this make the Bears a playoff team in the NFC?
  16. Huet is starting tonight. EIther the "Niemi is No. 1 talk" was just setting up for a trade they thought would happen, or Niemi blew his shot in two periods.
  17. Also they were at a bar singing "Bear Down, Chicago Bears." (j/k, I expect these deals to get done).
  18. As opposed to all the productive, important discussions on the board? Especially during spring training?
  19. Before I look: Sosa is too low and Grace is way too high. *looks* Sosa at No. 8... check. Grace at No. 14 ... check. Hornsby at No. 50? *rage*
  20. Wasn't he referring to quantum mechanics, a subject on which he turned out to be wildly wrong?
  21. http://www.thisweekontheinternet.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/bill-murray-stripes.jpg I want to party with you, cowboy.
  22. Logical fallacy of false burden of proof.
  23. Prediction: Whether or not they stick with this depends almost entirely on the first high-profile incident. Either they have a big, late rally that includes an extra base taken in some way, or they lose a game when a baserunner gets thrown out in a situation where it is obvious that he shouldn't have been running. That will set the tone for the rest of the season.
  24. I think our entire secondary will look a lot better with Peppers on the defensive line.
