  1. The Cubs still print physical media guides? 20th century imo
  2. In medium-quality MLB TV feed, Hoffpauier looked a lot like Fukudome. The Hoff-copter strikeout didn't help.
  3. Diving catch running in on a dying fly ball. A better LFer would have caught it running, but a lot of them would have let it drop too.
  4. Anaheim is a good matchup for us. The more slow, physical teams we play in the playoffs, the better.
  5. Every time I look at the bottom half of the West standings, I get cold sweats. If the Wings make it, it's 50/50 we get them in the first round, and that's just a nightmare scenario.

  8. He's been flat-out awful in real games for four years now, too.
  9. Imagine what he could do for our players' confidence as a batting practice pitcher.
  10. We're preemptively slamming him for the possibility of Silva making the team.
  11. Hooray for bad pitcher being bad. ST results don't mean anything, but sometimes baseball front-office types don't know that, so it's nice when the Cubs' players perform like they should.
  12. The Blackhawks smacked around one of the better teams in the Western Conference despite a poor performance from Huet? That's unpossible.
  13. Do they ever take just half a squad to a game and leave the rest in camp and call it "split squad"?
  14. Ben Rapethlisberger, amirite?
  15. A couple is probably a better way of putting it, thank you. I'm having trouble thinking of teams with two, I guess. Wood and Marmol were a good bet to produce a solid bullpen no matter what. Doing some BRing, it's surprising (to me) how often teams only have one consistently awesome bullpen arm, and they are almost all closers.
  16. Both sides have a point. Bullpens are so variable you might get a good or bad one out of almost anything. But you can also definitely shade the odds in your favor by having a handful of awesome arms. The Cubs really only have one.
