Yes. Because it's not a month from now. These things ebb and flow pretty much constantly, and yet people always convince themselves that they can make some sort of sense out of it. Every year in every sport, some teams play like crap for the end of the regular season and are then awesome in the playoffs, and vice-versa. As far as I can tell, there is absolutely no correlation. From Dec. 22 to Feb. 24 of last season, the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins went 9-14-3. They played like absolute crap for two full months. And then what happened? They turned it around for no rhyme or reason.
