  1. Where does Marshall fit in ranking the team's pitchers? Sixth or seventh? Glad to see him pitching incredibly low-leverage innings.

  3. You have to miss bats to be effective. You also have to not walk 20% of the guys you face. I don't see what's so hard about saying he was both bad and unlucky.
  4. Weakly hit balls are still a risk of turning into hits. 10% home runs, 20% walks, 10% strikeouts, 60% contact is always going to be a recipe for bad.
  5. Your pitcher faced 10 batters. He walked 2, struck out 1, gave up 1 home run and allowed six balls in play. That's not 54.00 ERA bad, but it's bad. of the 6 balls in play, 2 possibly could have been caught for an out But they weren't. And that's why we don't credit or debit the pitcher for what happens on balls in play. It was a bad inning that got turned into an awful inning by bad luck, but let's not pretend it wasn't a bad inning. 30% of the batters he faced were either walked or homered. With average BABIP luck, he gives up two hits, so that puts 5 of the 10 men he faced on base.

  7. if we pull zambrano every time he gives up one hard hit ball, he's going to throw 41 innings this year What about when he gives up two walks and a home run in an inning? (also, the single up the middle was hard-hit).
  8. Chip Caray's orgasmic call of that home run brought tears of laughter, rage and sorrow all at the same time. "SWING AND A DRIVE RIGHT! WELCOME. TO. THE. SHOW!!!!"
  9. This video game is broken. Too many crappy bloop singles.
  10. give them back or suffer from some bloops and bad middle-infield defense? FYP

  12. Cubs now batting .500. Need to work on the isolated power.
  13. Okay, MLB.TV appears be working in the nick of time. All is well. Except for you blacked-out people. Sucks to be you.
  14. mlb.tv doesn't use ESPN, ever. Well then why the expletive is the feed not up yet?
  15. I'm thinking MLB.com planned on having the ESPN2 feed, and Cardinals-Reds going long means it isn't available yet. Brilliant.
  16. Oddly enough, MLB TV online still doesn't have the Cubs game available. Usually they'd have it up by now.
  17. I'd say it's pretty likely. Even with Niemi's raise, Niemi+Crawford+Huet's buyout saves you some cap space over Niemi+Huet.
  18. I think the Hawks would be on the hook for 2/3s of the contract. Also believe that will be the salary cap hit, but am not sure. edit: Salary Cap is reportedly going up about 1 million next season. You take his remaining salary, pay him 2/3rds of it, but spread the cap hit on that 2/3rds over twice the number of years as he had remaining.
