Huet's was very strong from Oct. 15 to Jan. 5, then Jan. 9 was where he started to fall apart. Niemi's I would say lasted from Oct. 3 to Jan. 21 (though he did have a six-game stretch where he had three shutouts, one 1 GA and two 4 GA, that might be considered unhot).
Kane gets an assist added to the first goal. That gives him 74 points, and today is his and the Hawks' 65th game. He's on pace for 93 points. He's going to need to score 26 in the final 19 games, or a 1.36 ppg pace, to get to 100. Probably a little out of reach unless he has a couple monster games.
Good start. The big unknown in hockey is bounces like that. When you don't get them, it feels like the other team's goalie is invincible. When you get a bunch, you are on a roll.
Yeah, I was totally implying playoffs. But having seen Vancouver and Calgary in the playoffs last year, I'm not expecting things to be significantly different.
It'd have to be one of those "last-second injury, double-header tomorrow, only need them on the roster for one day so let's not waste anyone good's time" sort of deals.
Considering he's giving up HRs to guys wearing no. 83, nobody. He's 29, a former 40th round pick, and he was once traded for Jose Molina, says Wikipedia. He's a guy who has hung around the minors so long it might be neat to see him get a cup of coffee someday.
It seems like it happens every time. A guy makes an awful defensive play in the top of the inning, then kills the really at the bottom. Or wait, is that how it's supposed to go?
