  1. Tribune web site says it's "serious" and Q won't rule it out "effective him for the rest of the year" and they'll "know more in the next few days"
  2. This defense gets significantly worse without Campbell. And the really crappy thing is, if he'd been injured a little earlier we could have at least had his cap room back for the trade deadline, I think.
  3. Yes. Because it's not a month from now. These things ebb and flow pretty much constantly, and yet people always convince themselves that they can make some sort of sense out of it. Every year in every sport, some teams play like crap for the end of the regular season and are then awesome in the playoffs, and vice-versa. As far as I can tell, there is absolutely no correlation. From Dec. 22 to Feb. 24 of last season, the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins went 9-14-3. They played like absolute crap for two full months. And then what happened? They turned it around for no rhyme or reason.
  4. I'm going to continue to blast them. Because as we've seen repeatedly throughout pretty much the entire history of sports, this stuff is ridiculously fickle. The fact that they've been playing bad for two months doesn't mean crap about how they will be playing in another month and a half. They were playing awesome three or four months ago, and that didn't carry over either, so why should this? They might be awesome in the playoffs, they might be awful, but how they are playing right now has little bearing on it.
  5. Who knows? How often does how a team is playing right now turn out to be how they are playing 20 games from now?
  6. *makes popcorn, enjoys the turn in the thread*
  7. expletive DOOM DOOM DOOOOOOM ANGST DOOOOOOOOOOM! (for real this time, that would suck)
  8. Oh man, you guys are hilarious when things go bad for awhile. Also, no team in the history of sports has ever recovered from a slump, so this team will pretty much be awful forever. Guaranteed.
  9. How many times do you have to think stuff like this and get burned?
  10. No more wins this season, I think. 93 points probably doesn't get us into the playoffs, either. It'd be close...
  11. DOOM DOOM DOOM ANGST DOOOOOM!
  12. One more solid period and Niemi earns the next start or two.
  13. I see no reason to think Niemi can get it done. They've had virtually identical seasons: A couple months of awesome and a couple months of awful, at the exact same times. If Niemi were the overpaid veteran and Huet were the shiny-new-toy rookie, I suspect opinions would be reversed.
  14. Niemi, without question. Without question? Seriously? That's ridiculous.
  15. It broke him so hard, he came back with one of his best games in months last night.
  16. They were looking for an excuse to call one there to even things up a little.
  17. You will DIE now. I want every fan of every other team to hate it. I want it to get on their nerves.
  18. I love how our point men on the PP always take a big, slow windup to give the Capitals a sporting chance to get in the lane and block it. Seems like good sportsmanship.
  19. lol, Capital's coach talking to the ref and you can read his lips. "A five for that? That's horse [expletive]!" Okay, he's at least got game a misconduct too. Woo.
  20. At least he got a 5, but that was horsecrap.
  21. I don't want to say Huet was excellent when three goals went in, but he was very solid today.
  22. Absolutely brutal defense by the Blackhawks in the third period.
  23. Shooter with a clean shot, puts one perfectly off the inside of the post. In no universe was that soft.
  24. Five time first-team all-pro is great, but I expect my 'greatest of all time' short list to have a little more.
  25. Given his HOF induction speech, I'm a little nervous about Sandberg getting into pointless p-contests with good players over silly ish.
