    I'm staying in the camp that says 70 high-leverage innings, with the boost a pitcher usually gets from moving to relief, is about the same value as 200 starters' innings.

    You could've just said "I will scream". Hell no. I've been arguing that with two copy editors I know in the last couple of days. Yes, technically, it started out as "Final" because there is only one, unlike semifinals or quarterfinals. But common usage has to prevail at some point, and everyone says "Finals."

    Short of someone going off for like 2 goals per game in the final, or Niemi with four shutouts, nobody but Toews will win the Conn Smythe if the Blackhawks win the Cup. The rest are sucker bets.

    Pronger is way better than Blake. Philadelphia's forwards are way more defensively sound than San Jose's were. No wingers skating right to the front of the net unmarked this series. Fortunately, they aren't as threatening offensively as Vancouver or San Jose were. They don't get a ton offensively from their defensemen, and they have three solid lines of good but not great offensive forwards. If Niemi doesn't poop the bed, the Blackhawks' team defense should be able to keep the scoring way, way, way down.     I don't see much difference between the Flyers' 1st, 2nd and 3rd goalies. It's not like they had Ryan Miller and had to fall back on Leighton.

    That's the crappy thing about being favored. I think I'd rather be a Philly fan at this point. Nothing to lose.

    I've seen 5/12 over at sportsbook.com. I'm not sure if that's better or worse. The gambler in me thinks these are way too high and that the Flyers are a good value bet. Pronger and Richards at +1000 each for the Conn Smythe look like great value too.

    I think he means RealGM, but that's weird because I don't have an account there and I only started browsing it recently because of the LeBron rumors.

    I don't think anyone could say anything besides Kane's shortie. Without that, they are down 3-2 and heading on the road.

    Even if San Jose gets to take away those three goals, in two of the games they still need to score one to turn those into wins. In order to give them a lead in the series, you have to posit a two-goal swing in the actual results. I'd call that domination, especially considering that they couldn't score at all.

    Not that a Hawks fan should know, but I think last year was the first afternoon games ever for the Final. Usually they are all 7 p.m. central no matter what.

    I'm so torn on how good Philadelphia is. All the stuff about coaching is probably true and there's a lot of talent on that squad. But we're still talking about a team that had a +9 goal differential in the regular season and has only faced one good team in the playoffs. I guess I'll settle for "They are better than I wish they were and hopefully not good enough."

    Yes. Unless the Blackhawks are winning. Then he can post in our thread about how much pain he is in.

    Philadelphia's defensemen are easily the best we've faced this postseason. But they don't add a lot to the offense, and their forwards are all good two-way guys but no huge scoring threats. This will not be easy.
