  1. Hahahahaha. Cnbs. Way to show the hustle and take a hard turn.
  2. Vitters 2.0? Vitters didn't have contact issues.
  3. He seems to be one of those "He's got everything if he figures out how to hit" guys.
  4. So every other team is going with the collective wisdom. This bodes well for us!
  5. 11) Some other dude not in the top 200 of BA Move him up to No. 2
  6. They are Pujols and two mediocre decisions away from a *very* expensive 81-win team. And, unfortunately, that should be good enough to fill the seats back up. That's not unfortunate. "Man, management is dumb. Let's choke the revenue stream, that'll show them. Less money is sure to lead to a better team..."
  7. They've really classed this up. I remember a few years ago you could get the conference call streaming.
  8. At this point I think your posts would just be joining the chorus on how much the Cubs suck. Not to mention how awesome Albert Pujols is and how we all love him so much. Is there really any difference between a Cubs and Cards board these days? By August, there will be dozens of posts about how awful world-class cities are when you can live in an overgrown Peoria on a river.
  9. They are Pujols and two mediocre decisions away from a *very* expensive 81-win team.
  10. Seems like a wasteful use of resources to try to be better on paper than the Yankees when you only need to be better than the Cardinals and Brewers.
  11. The lack of a hitter the quality of mid-2000s Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez. What do I win?
  12. So I was reading something written last November that said no player from the 2012 draft class would even break this year's top 10. Was that true/is that still true?
  13. You finish the joe, you make some mo.
  14. If the ownership is so great, why does the team suck? Answer me that.
  15. I could see that happening. What pressure? Nobody's clamoring for Ryne Sandberg. If the Cubs wanted Sandberg to be their manager, he'd be their manager already. There was a guy on the postgame show on 720 yesterday saying how he's so angry that they didn't hire Sandberg that he doesn't want to take his granddaughter to her first game anymore, or something. They are out there.
  16. He's a 120 ERA+ starter. We may not get someone's absolute top prospect, but we better get something pretty amazing. Not that it matters, he's not going anywhere until we can effectively trash his value. Break out the Baker Pitcher's Manual for his usage patterns the rest of the year.
  17. If Darwin Barney gave the exact same speech, he'd have a statue outside Wrigley by Tuesday morning.
  18. How many other teams does he have back-to-back walk-off HR games against this year? Boom. Factual headshot.
  19. The next time it comes up, I'd still pitch to Pujols.
  20. Trading Zambrano is waving the white flag for the next several years, hoping that it buys you some time from the fans' ire if you aren't really trying to win. I say do it.
  21. Covered Junis a little bit in high school when he was an underclassman. Nothing to say, really. Just threw that out there.
