  1. That's exactly what it is, he's Not Fields. I desperately want to be assured that Fields will not be our QB for a fourth season, but what we saw Sunday ain't that assurance. It was pretty much exactly what everybody worth listening to said would happen to Bagent in any game they fell behind.
  2. Looks to me like poles feels completely sure in his job and has some sort of dumb grand rebuild plan that involves way too many years and no legacy players
  3. Just for funsies because I've been a beer league goalie for a year now so obviously that makes me an expert on NHL goalie techniques 1) first goal defense was bad but he did take a weird angle going sideways instead of back toward his post 2) all on the defense. Five guys guy sucked into one side of the ice 3) slow reaction and brutal technique, that shot shouldn't go in, an NHL goalie shouldn't have his pad pop up on a slide like that 4) JFC poor guy, that's when you know it's not your night. Off the top of the net, off his back and in 5) again looked awfully slow reacting and moving on the pass. Was too deep in his crease and not set when the shot came in. It was a good shot, might have gone in regardless. 6) I think maybe he could have stood his ground and come out a bit. Choosing to go down deep there protects you from weird bounces but it gives so much net to nhl shooters. 7) tough rebound to control but I think an NHL goalie can do better than that 😎 new goalie - no chance, multiple cross crease passes inside 10 feet, the kind of defense you see in the last 10 minutes of a long pickup when everyone is feeling goofy So in my possibly controversial but expert opinion, the goalie who gave up 7 in two periods had a bit of a bad night
  4. There's apparently a limit to how many players you can return from ir in a season?
  5. Fields already confirmed out
  6. I don't like pointing that out because they start talking about drafting Da Trenches by taking an edge at the top of the draft next year That was the most talented special teams unit I've ever seen *and* one of the top defenses of all time and it still lost because the other team had Peyton Manning and we didn't .
  7. It's just contrarianism. I like a lot about Bagent but I don't wanna hear about how none of it was at all his fault or how bad throws can't be bad if the receiver adjusts and gets to it. I understand a certain amount of Williams skepticism but I think he's drawing a lot of undue hate from an unholy alliance of fields truthers, meatballs who want athletes to shut up and take pennies, and prospect hipsters.
  8. Yeah, I would have loved nothing more than for Bagent to spike the fields experiment so I don't have to worry about us giving him a fourth year, but that wasn't it and I'm already getting annoyed by the bears fans lining up to give him the standard list of bad QB play excuses.
  9. You kinda dead-dove-in-a-bagged yourself on this one.
  10. Watched the entire thing, but occasionally had to jump in and out to do things for my kid.
  11. oof that throw that VJJ dropped was even worse than I thought on first look.
  12. Yeah, I think I just don't care that Bagent is probably a little better than Fields. He's done his job and provided contrast to show what quick throws, NFL open and line adjustments are supposed to look like. He can go back to obsurity again.
  13. People are going to ... I don't wanna say "overreact" because we really are a bad team, but we're not going to lose all our games like this. Getting our teeth kicked in by KC didn't stop us from going 2-2 in the next four with two close losses. There's plenty of bad teams on our remaining schedule and we'll beat some of them.
  14. Yeahhhhh, I think so. I think it's defensible either way. If i had to choose *right now*, I'd take Fields for the rest of the season on upside.
  15. That was gonna be my answer. It's been awhile but I recall Brady being a big rag-armed his first couple seasons.
  16. Bagent is gonna get a good chance to stat-pad
  17. Then again, you could argue that Bagent isn't *enough* better than Fields for it to matter when Fields has much higher upside.
  18. Neither does San Diego. Unless we're stat-scouting.
  19. I don't think he needs strength training. I think he needs better mechanics. Which *could* be fixable over time, but I'm not gonna sit around and wait for him.
  20. I saw the Kansas City game, which was exacty liket his one but Fields was worse.
  21. This game has made me more convinced, not less, that he's the best QB on the roster.
  22. Sometime next month we'll win 2 out of 3 against bad teams again
