  1. I still like Bagent as a long term project
  2. I kinda wish we had young right now too tbh. We are really gonna play ourselves into QB hell continuing. We will pick something like 2nd and 7th, take MHJ and the third QB who turns out to bust.
  3. We really really need to get Williams or maye and they need to hit. There's a really plausible path where we manage to dodge all the good QBs the last few years and stay in QB hell for another decade
  4. Five fourth quarter possessions in a winnable game, five failures
  5. Four fourth quarter possessions in a winnable game, four abject failures
  6. Yep. Bagent looks competent until defenses *know* you need to pass. Then he falls apart.
  7. Bears tied in the fourth quarter despite an 0/2 turnover deficit, a missed field goal and the Saints not having a single penalty against them.
  8. Sweat was invisible until he hit the QBs arm for an incomplete on third down early in the third quater.
  9. I think he could have recognized it and pulled the trigger a split-second sooner too. Either way, the ball could have gotten there just a smidge faster.
  10. It's crazy how much being 50+ is no longer an impediment to field goals.
  11. But all that said, let's see what happens if they fall behind in the second half. That's a much more challenging situation for him given his limitations.
  12. If I'm supposed to be convinced Fields is a better QB, this half isn't doing it. Bagent gives the offense a chance to operate intended. We're not eating unnecessary sacks on every drive. Receivers are getting chances to make plays on the ball (so are DBs to be fair). We're not running outside pitches straight into two uncovered defenders because the plays are getting checked at the line. Blitzes are being met with hot reads. Sure, he had a very bad game last week. But he looked better in his worst game than Fields did against KC.
  13. The ability to chew almost 7 minutes on that drive is underrated.
  14. Bagent reads the blitz pre-snap, checks at the line, easy third down conversion.
  15. We have spent too many draft picks on DBs to be this bad in coverage
  16. He's a useful DE but he's not a difference-maker
  17. Bagent has two issues: 1) A weak and inconsistent arm. (I suspect this is more mechanics than raw strength). 2) Tendency to throw INT-worthy balls due to overconfidence and being fooled by pro defenses The first one *might* befixable over years. Maybe it's not. The second one is something every rookie QB goes through. Maybe he adapts, maybe he doesn't, but I'd rather have to teach an aggressive guy to be more prudent than try to teach a guy to be more aggressive.
  18. I think the upside is there to be more than a backup. I think the arm strength *could* improve over a couple of years because I think it's more mechanics than physical limitations. Obviously he'd have to stop being fooled by disguised coverages too, but every rookie has to learn to adapt to those.
  19. I've never been a sanborn guy but he's having a game.
  20. I don't think you appreciate how bad I think Justin Fields is.
  21. I think all of the following are true 1) Bagent is a bad QB 2) Bagent might be the best QB on the roster 3) I think if you keep him around as a long-term project, he has some interesting upside 4) I don't like him enough to force anything, if he never gets his big break so be it, we still need to be drafting one next year.
  22. I like the decision to throw. I thought the throw could have been better, but there's always something to be said about giving your guys a chance, especally in one-on-one mismatches.
  23. I think he's raised his stock this season and I don't hate what I see. Tight spiral and quick decisions.. has probably played himself into the first round? I don't think he's going as high as we are expected to pick and will be gone before our secondary picks
  24. I don't mind the elusive hero ball. But he keeps trying to shrug off sacks instead of dodging them. He's not big enough to pull that off.
