Starting pitching has been *slightly* less of burning brush fire of awful than the rest of the roster, but I wouldn't call it good. Relying on $6m 1-WAR pitchers to give you 2-WAR seasons isn't a way to build a playoff team.
The problem is that even if almost all of them succeed, you are still short a lot of pitching, which is why any injury to a pitching prospect would be especially upsetting. We have no margin for error there.
He hurt his leg sliding to try and make the catch. It looks like he might've tweaked his hamstring, but can't be sure. He walked off gingerly with help from coaches. Josh Vitters is coming to save us!
This is who Strop is. He goes through streaks of looking unhittable, then he gets wild for awhile, then he's awesome again. We've only seen him awesome as Cubs fans so far.
"success" A .762 OPS is success. Unsustainable success. But success nonetheless. Not when it's accumulated in a way that highlights the limitations of OPS. Sheesh, his wOBA jumped overnight though. Nevermind.
