An amazing test case for showing the failures of OPS. He's got a .298 wOBA and Fangraphs has him below replacement level for the year (although that's half-defense). He's got a .236 OBP. He's not been offensively valuable.
Why? Because it's better to suck with players that MAY be here in a few years than suck with AAAA players like Ryan Sweeney who won't be here for sure. Why is Mike Olt in that category? Because he's just short of 26 instead of 27 or whatever? It just seems like a weird obsession because the guy could technically be termed a "prospect" before the year.
I'm really starting to believe the Hawks might make it 3 out of 5 this year. I know the playoffs are hard and all, but this team is just so good. I saw a stat the other day something stupid like in the last five years, the Blackhawks are .500 in games 1-3 of a playoff series and something crazy like 22-6 in games 4-7.
And then turded out in AAA and didn't have Bryant's draft pedigree. I wouldn't have shouted down anyone who said they liked Bryant more before the season, either.
Goalie chants are awesome when the goalie in question is having a bad game or is in the middle of a meltdown. Chanting it when he's doing well for no apparent reason just makes you look like an idiot as a fanbase.
WGN Radio always puts it up within a day or so. And you can download them. I still have them all from 2010. http://wgnradio.com/2014/04/26/highlights-blackhawks-best-blues-3-2-in-overtime-in-game-5/ Wait, I'm an idiot. That's Wiedeman. This is the TV broadcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIpxDE8SLYU
I'm going to try to list all the people on this team that suck. Lake, Olt, Villanueva, Castillo, Baker, Schierholtz, Kalish, Ruggiano, Jackson, Wright, Veras. Did I miss any?
