  1. If scouts can't see him, how can we know if he's still good? Can't look at his stats.
  2. 1. Alcantara 2. Tseng 3. Soler 4. Rivero 5. Hendricks 6. Bruno 7. Vizcaino 8. Bryant 9. Baez 10. Almora
  3. At least he's drawing the heat of Javy's three more Ks tonight.
  4. After 187 big league at-bats no chance this guy adjusts. "No chance" is a stupid approach. There's a "chance" for anything. There's a "chance" for everyting. Of course there's not "no chance." But at his age, the "chance" is pretty damn small.
  5. [inappropriate allusion to being physically aroused by this]
  6. I love how I'm not even surprised at this point when Rizzo does something awesome.
  7. yet somehow alcantara rises above it He must be our new No. 1 prospect. Bryant now 1-for-11 with 6 Ks
  8. based ball is happening now, please win cubes
  9. The jump from AA to AAA may be bigger than we frequently think.
  10. Using my expert weatherologying (looking at the radar on google maps and trying to remember where in Chicago Wrigley is), I think we're going to just barely be OK?
  11. I don't know if its necessarily overconfidence, but you think about Portugal, and you're getting to play them in the jungle without Pepe, Coentrao and Almeida, and maybe without Bruno Alves as well, and with a less-than-100% CR7...you could not ask for a better opportunity and a better time to play them. Which probably means we'll come out flat and lose a la Poland 2002. The flip side is if I were Portugal and I had to deal with all those injuries and a red card for any game in this group, I'd want it to be against the United States without Altidore.
  12. That was the least arguing I've ever seen for such an awful call.
  13. Almora not in the lineup. #demoted (or probably just a night off)
  14. Totally true. But I was thinking about that game (which is solely responsible for me being a soccer fan) and the goals the US scored. They were nothing like Dempsey's goal against Ghana. This team would trounce that US team, we've come so far.
  15. US draw-lose and Ghana win and pass us on tiebreakers is the most fearsomely plausible scenario to me.
  16. I like Brett a lot and still think he's an apologist.
  17. Managers exaggerating about their players? Doesn't sound likely to me...
  18. If Germany feels like playing, they are gonna murder us. We may never touch the ball.
  19. German win would be ideal, right?
