  1. In this economy, I don't think I'd accept deferred payments from anyone, even sports teams.
  2. Canuckophiles select Joe Mauer
  3. Holladay over Lincecum??? That's a head scratcher to me. Lincecum is ridiculous. I almost took him at No. 2. I wanted to live up to my name.
  4. That sounds about right. I've heard this show quite a few years in a row, I'm not missing out being at work during a rerun.
  5. will get mine off tomorrow as well
  6. If I'm understanding right that the FA list is the available pool, the Canuckophiles select Roy Halladay.
  7. Being good with money is an acquired skill, and there's nothing about pro athletes that makes them more likely to have that skill than the general population. That's why so many of them end up legitimately broke.
  8. If it's via forums, I can start immediately. If we do it live, there is pretty much no chance i can do it this week.
  9. Since always. It's pretty much the textbook definition. If I had said "proven chronic cheater," then your "one time" defense would make sense. But I didn't and it doesn't. Well then Joe Morgan is an admitted cheater as well. Works for me. I'm pretty sure there's lots of users littering the so-called pure past of baseball. Hank Aaron's an admitted PED user too, and I'd say it's 50/50 whether he was a chronic user.
  10. 80% chance of getting through the first round, 20% of getting through the second. They can play a competitive series against SJ or Detroit, but it will have to involve an insanely hot goalie and a string of our best performances.

  13. He's made millions of dollars and his life revolves around baseball. That's not a hole. Alright, then he's chasing his tail. If you were to find yourself no longer able to continue in journalism, wouldn't you try your hand at something else? No, I moved to North Dakota where I can still collect a paycheck and nobody cares that I'm incompetent.
  14. AP jobs aren't really all that great or prestigious. Jesus, you are always a killjoy. Your title should be "Negative Nancy." I apologize. AP jobs are the pinnacle of the profession and all the best writers fight for them.

  16. This kind of loss doesn't bother me. It's like that one game a year in baseball where you hit 15 line drives right at fielders and the other team bloops home a couple runs. Of course, being locked in to a playoff seed helps me feel that way.
  17. Oh man, that last save was sick, sick, sick. He was dead to rights beat and just manages to flick out his foot and get a piece of it. Even though it sucked for the Hawks, it was awesome.
  18. Is there something he should be doing with his life that isn't baseball that is really pressing or something?
  19. Dear puck, Please take a bounce that doesn't favor the Wild. Thanks, KyleJRM
  20. Havlat lately reminds me of Samsonov, except the puck occasionally ends up in the net when he's on the ice.
